Miss Selfridge Autumn/Winter 2010

Here's a sneaky peek at what to expect from Miss Selfridge in the coming months. Fur, was a huge trend at the A/W shows, Chanel took it to the extreme with literally head to toe furriness-I would strongly suggest avoiding that. Miss Selfridge though have more subtle detailing such as fur lined clogs (yep, they're sticking around), fur trimmed boots and coats (absolutely loving the two shown here) and also complete fur coats (all faux of course). I never consider myself to be much of a coat person-I never quite feel comfortable in them. I think because it's difficult to find the perfect and flattering fit (big boobs, small shoulders and waist). So I'm a little surprised that I'm totally lusting after the feathered coat here and the velvet one is completely stunning, totally glorious.
A massive trend practically every Fall is of course the gothic, vintage lace look and I've always loved this. The sheer maxi is pure luxury and I love the complicated 'is it a mini or a maxi?' lace dress. The dirty cream lace shift looks like it was thrifted and that long red gown belongs on the Olsen sisters! The tapestry shoes and ring are top of my wishlist, alongside the wine velvet courts. Large cocktail rings are here to stay (yipee) and I love this adaptation of the Disney Couture treasure chest ring.
For footwear as I said there are oodles of fur lined boots and also lots of fringing. I picked my favourite platform style here. While the black embellished peep toe boots are reminiscent of a Studio TMLS design. There's also something about these brown wedges that intrigues me, I think it's the mix of masculine style with a super high wedge heel. Well done Miss S, another great collection.
