Irregular Choice: Scarves & Rings

Image
In the second part of my Irregular Choice accessories post, I'll be showing you some of the recent scarf and rings. You can find my first post on tights and socks here . I've been buying IC scarves for a while and have amassed quite the collection now. Although I wear them a lot, I wouldn't consider myself a "scarf person".  You know those people that always have a scarf draped around their neck? That's definitely not me or my style, yet I am using them regularly (I know what I mean in my head, just not sure I'm articulating it properly)!  Despite them being quite thin, they can really warm you up on cooler days in or outdoors.  Sometimes when I've got my jumper on and my blanket on and I'm still freezing, I've wrapped one of these around me as a shawl too.  I also wear them on my head.  You know I'm very fond of a headwrap and these are great to use for that as they are so big.  I'm trying to think of something that they are a sim...

Haul: Topshop Animal Rings

Image
I haven't bought jewellery for a while. Remember that time where every shop had kitsch, pearls, cute things and animal themed items that were right up my street and I bought non-stop? Well thankfully the jewellery trends have turned into something I'm not so keen on, so I've been given a little respite. Topshop got a ton more animal rings in recently though, so I kept a casual eye on them (I promise I didn't stalk!) and luckily when they went into the sale last week, they had my size left in every style I wanted. Everything was under a fiver, mostly £3.50-£4.50 if I remember correctly. Suffice to say my animal-rings box is now bulging...this is it before this lot as are my hands, definitely feeling the weight! Here's close-ups of everything I got. Generally speaking I'm finding the large ring size much more generous than it used to be, aside from the elephant set. The smaller elephant is alright, but the bigger one, the ring is dodgy shaped ...

Video: Animal Ring Collection Pt.1

...and this is the first part of the animal rings videos, containing lots of different brands. I speak for a few seconds at the start then there's no sound and hopefully it won't have any blocking issues for anyone without the music. Enjoy!

Video: Animal Ring Collection Pt.2

Image
Hiya peeps! I've fixed the videos on YouTube now that had the music license/blocking issues. Thankfully I'd saved the correct format of both videos on my computer so I could simply remove the music from them, otherwise I'd have been snookered. It takes bloomin' ages to save it for YouTube though and even longer to upload them, so I've had them running all day! This one contains the Topshop and Miss Selfridge rings, which are the majority of my collection. I speak for a wee minute at the end of this but otherwise there is no sound. Enjoy!

Animal Rings Collection Part 1 (Topshop)

Image
I very quickly made this little video the other day. I decided I would just film my entire animal ring collection, rather than taking individual pics which was too time consuming. The video was too long, so I've split it into two parts. The first includes all my Topshop animal rings. I'll try and get the other video up as soon as I can-just putting the finishing touches to it. You may need to turn the sound up quite loud to hear me (my camera sound volume isn't great). I absolutely cringe whenever I hear my voice on a recording, I sound like a baby...just the Fife accent I'm afraid! Nail polish for anyone wondering (I'm sure someone will ask) is the gorgeous Posh (taupe) from Eyeko.

If You Like It...

I'm about to bombard you with SS11 stuff from various brands that I really want to talk about. However I don't like my blog becoming completely devoted to 'company images' as it's a bit like an advertisement (even although it's not) and although I find it useful myself being able to see what to look out for instore-I like to add my own images and views into the mix too. With that said, I'm feeling completely lethargic this week and not very motivated or inspired to sort through dozens of my own images and get them right and labelled and up here. I blame it on February-my most hated month of the year! My lack of enthusiasm will come across believe me, so I'm going to stick with the slightly easier to write SS11 posts! I will add these pics in the middle for something else to look at though.... I decided my jewellery storage needed an overhaul yet again, as I've been pretty obsessive with my purchases, doubling or maybe trebling my collection recently...

Where Is It?

Image
I've probably bought more jewellery in the past couple of months than the last few years-it's getting ridiculous. You know I tidied up my jewellery storage a few months ago and my rings especially looked all neat and tidy in their new home. Ever since then, I've been adding more and more to the collection and I'm fast running out of room (I'd wanted to keep all my rings together in one place). I think I mentioned at the time that I misplaced a ring. I still haven't found it, but found this image I took of it when I bought it-which re-sparked the mystery of where could it be?

Jewellery Storage Solution!

Image
I've always been someone who adores jewellery. Undoubtedly it's due to my magpie like characteristic of a fondness for anything that sparkles and twinkles. When I was 12, a boy at school nicknamed me 'kooky' due to the huge sparkly rings that adorned my fingers (at that time nobody wore costume jewellery at that age and especially not to school). I try and regularly go through my stash and donate the stuff I don't wear anymore to charity or throw the rubbish in the bin. The other night I decided to do something about the ever growing bundle of pieces lying around my room and the issue that so many of my rings are stored all over the house-I want them altogether in one place. The images above show maybe a third of my collection, before I starting organising. I got this stunning box a few Christmas's ago. It's padded pink leather with a satin dress and shoe design on the front and large mirror in the lid. It has keys and a lock, which I haven't seen on a j...
