Irregular Choice Sanrio Haul: First Impressions

Image
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items. Irregular Choice launched a big release last week, a collaboration with Sanrio , featuring Hello Kitty (HK), My Melody (MM), Little Twin Stars (LTS) and Gudetama. I really wanted the MM boots, but was unsure of sizing, so ordered two pairs and knowing I had one of those to return anyway, I got a bit carried away and ordered quite a lot. Mostly bags, they were good in this collection! My order arrived a few days ago and I've quickly photographed each thing, just to give a brief overview of what I thought. I know it's been a long time since I've written my detailed haul reviews...I have nowhere to photograph that type of thing upstairs and I just don't think I have the energy for those kinds of posts now, which is unfortunate. Anyway here's my thoughts, starting with those MM boots.

Monster High: Catrine DeMew & Other Dolls

Image
It's a Friday and I thought some cute dollies would welcome us into the weekend! My Monster High 'Catrine DeMew' arrived from Paris (well online at Asda actually, but that's a little less glamorous), she is an Asda exclusive if you're looking for her.  However, more about her later in the post. I mentioned in my last Monster High post that my sister completely changed the look of her Howleen (Dance Class), so I took some photos to show you. Remember she originally came with bunches, which I took out and made into one bun? Well this is what my sis did.... Completely different to mine!  Howleen has the softest hair, it's great to play around with and despite her having quite tight curls, they were easy enough to brush out. My sister looked through her spare Bratz clothes and found a new outfit and she's very happy with the finished result. The boots by the way, were purchased for her Blythe dolls, but she's given a few pairs to her MH's! Whil...

Swatches: Lancome Christmas Beauty Box

Image
Better late than never, here are the rest of the swatches from my big beauty haul the other week (click for the original post ). We'll start with the Hello Kitty nude lipstick in Baby Doll from Superdrug. Swatches show it layered (top) versus a couple of swipes (bottom) and with and without the flash.  It's got an orangey tone to it, so it's not a true nude in my opinion, but I think it could look quite pretty with a gloss layered over it perhaps. Next is the Lancome 'Les Paillettes Aux Yeux' in 20 Lumieres de Paris. I mentioned last time that the little pot is quite nifty with only a little hole to pour the loose powder from. Hopefully if you drop or spill it, only a little or none would come out. As for when you do want the powder out, I've found tapping it out onto the back of my hand, then using either my finger or brush to apply to my lids has worked fine. The swatches on this one weren't as accurate as I'd have liked. When I've be...

Swatches: Nail Polish (w/YSL Premiere Neige Top Coat)

Image
So here are the swatches from the nail polishes I purchased recently. I have the eyeshadows etc for a separate post because it was a little picture heavy in one. I happened to be wearing my new MAC (Glamour Daze) Everything That Glitters  polish the day I took these pics, so you can see that on my fingers too.  To remind you of the others; they are Hello Kitty (Superdrug exclusive) in Got Dat Thang (hot pink) and Respect (deep navy), along with Lancome Vernis In Love 'Ginger Swing 532' (Limited Edition) and YSL La Laque Couture in '33 Premiere Neige' (Limited Edition), which I've applied over the others (but more on that later).  I totally jumbled those descriptions from the line-up below but never mind! I wore the Lancome one last week and although it was a pain to remove, it's beautiful on. It's got a multi-layered shimmer to it along with the metallic quality. The MAC one that is on my nails I wasn't so impressed with. I expected a glossy blac...
