Pink Haired Princess

A quick fotd as I haven't done one for a while. I ordered some lip tars from OCC ( Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics ) and I'm loving them. I played it pretty safe buying a lot of nudes and browns, but then those are the colours that suit me-so it makes sense. I am wanting to delve into the brighter/scary colours like dark green and bright blue though because they provide really interesting colours when mixed. Anyway there will be a more in depth review and swatching of them next week. For today, I mixed Complex (pastel greyish lilac/pink) with Petty Beige (warm, goldish beige), then popped some GOSH lipgloss (0059) over the top ( because the lip tars are very matte), and I came up with this stunning nude. I love it! I did the rest of my face pretty quickly with Dainty Doll foundation in Ivory (Jelly Pong Pong), No7 Quick Cover concealer in 02 Extra Fair and under the eyes this week I've been using the eye brightener from the Wakeup Makeup palette from Jelly Pong Pong...

GOSH Pearl Shine lipstick is a light, glossy feel lipstick with an extreme frost finish. As you can see from the images in the tube, they are extremely glittery, however this isn't chunky, gritty sparkle that you can feel between your lips. The glossy texture has a slightly slippy feeling, so the finish is frost rather than sparkle. They are also quite sheer, although pigmented in colour, it can really vary depending on how much you apply. It was very difficult to capture this quality on camera. The colours look pretty solid in the swatch, when actually they move with the light and have a different sheen (i.e. either silver or beige) depending on how you look at it. 620 Sparkle is a silver beige, the same style as MAC Sunsonic. 608 Desire is more a bronzed copper which can come out a darkish brown or light coppery nude depending on how much you apply and in what light. 610 Mermaid reminds me slightly of Myself by MAC, but obviously with much more pigment and slightly darker. Here are the last of my haul pics from last week. I did indeed forget to photograph Lancome La Base Pro that I bought. It's not very interesting to look at anyway. A glass bottle (sure it would've been cheaper had that been plastic). Anyway it's £24.50 and I used my Advantage Card points, so technically it was free (yay). Collection 2000 Hot Looks nail polishes were 2 for £2.99 in Superdrug and 2 for £3 in Boots (or that could be the other way around). These little babies were the main point of my shopping trip. Superdrug only had 2 colours left, so I got them both. Boots had loads, so I swithered between them all, then bought another 4. I wanted to compare the mint green one to Barry M, but they were out of stock of that and I had a funny feeling they were very similar. When I got them home, I was right, there isn't a huge difference. C2000 is perhaps more bluey, of course they may look different on the nail. Ok, I know it's taken me longer than expected with this post, but it's well worth the wait. Sorry for the difference in backgrounds in the pics, I had to move around to get the best lighting for realistic colours. Although I realised when editing the pics, that I forgot to photograph the NYC lippie I bought (I'll do it later). Is it just me that gets this exciteable with nude lip colours? Hi everyone, had a fabby time shopping today. I will have more pics and details for you tomorrow, but in the meantime I took these photos quickly just now. I'm really pleased with my loot. First up my Playboy cosmetics package arrived before we left this morning, so I still have that to properly look at. I went crazy with the new nail polish colours at Collection 2000, plus I picked up yet another 2 glitter eyeliners. It was 3 for 2 at GOSH and I got this gorgeous metallic eyeliner (that has better staying power than anything else known to (wo)man), nude Darling lipstick and a gorgeous nude lipgloss too. I must say I was very put off with the mucky testers and general gross-ness of the GOSH counter. It really makes me not want to buy anything when it's like that. Don't you think?
