Haul & Swatches: Paul & Joe

Image
Sometimes a post gets pushed back, while others take priority and before you know it, weeks or months have passed. This beauty haul dates back to before Christmas, probably early December actually and it's a pity I haven't shared it sooner, because it's really rather lovely. I'd had my eye on this beautiful set for ages, you know I'm a sucker for anything animal related (which is rather ironic considering I'm not so keen on animals in real life).  Each Christmas, Paul & Joe release specially packaged products usually with a makeup bag/purse (remember the  unicorn one  I got last year?) and they tend to be animal themed.  This year 'cats' took centre stage, a favourite of P&J, if you hadn't already guessed from the numerous items they've adorned over the years. I'd originally ordered it from ASOS , but there was a bit of a mix-up with the shade names/numbers and photos and I ended up with the set I wasn't as keen on. So I retur...

Irregular Choice 'Pixie Dust'

Image
Remember I mentioned I missed out on the Pixie Dust platforms from Irregular Choice AW'13? Well I finally got my hands on them and they are even more super than I imagined! I just adore them! They have this old-fashioned, folk-like feel, with the blanket stitch and applique. On the flip-side you have a huge platform and really modern shape, plus polka dots and lots of lovely bright colours. So it all meshes together into this wonderful creation. No wonder they called them Pixie Dust, they do seem rather magical.  I bought my usual size and they fit perfectly and I love the non-fiddly, 'real' buckle, so rare these days.  I really wanted another pair (or two) of Marble Moose, but knew I'd struggle to sneak one box past the family never mind three!     I can see these working with tights or bare feet, just a pity I'm not getting out just now because I'm desperate to wear them. I was supposed to be meeting two friends and their babies on Friday, but had to...

When Life Sucks (Part 1)

I like to include little bits of personal information or personality into regular blog posts. I think it's what gives blogging an edge over other forms of media. You want to hear what the blogger likes and doesn't and can relate to certain aspects of their life or bond over similar tastes. However it's not often I write an entirely personal post. I'm a private person in real life and blogging allows you to reveal as much or as little about your real life as you wish, which suits me. Plus, my blogs are fashion and beauty related rather than lifestyle, so it never felt right to 'TMI' left, right and centre! My body confidence post, You Are What You Are (Beautiful) (back in June 2012 unbelievably) was probably the first time I'd been so open and honest about my feelings. I was overwhelmed by your reaction and even now, I still get comments and references to it, which is just lovely. I never expected it to be as huge as it was and it seemed that spea...
