More DP shoes!

Remember my post last week about the wonderful footwear at Dorothy Perkins? Well, they've added more fabulous styles this week. I adore the glossy nude platforms (I featured the black last time) and the super sweet pink/gold satin sandals have flown off the shelves and are no longer available online. Fear not, there's now a glorious grey pair, which I may just love a little bit more than the pink. I'm a little undecided with the red patent peep-toes however. I loved the black Gucci style patent pair with white trim (now in the sale), but I don't think this pair are as striking. The pink Gucci pair (seen in my banner ^) are super, I think DP should've taken a risk and gone brighter and bolder than the deep crimson shade.

Shellys Sale

I've had my eye on these cute Samba sandals from Shellys ever since they landed on their site. They are now down to a wonderful £25 (and are calling my name), I also love the Viola and All Night (also available in a lovely green) by Miss L Fire. Viola featured in the Gorgeous Shoe of the Week over on Celeb Style a few months back. On the site just now is a special extended GSOTW, featuring 25 pretty pairs!

Dune Sale

Dune have tonnes of gorgeous styles in their sale. There's also lots of lovely bags reduced too. Again, the prices aren't bargain basement, so you really need to know that you'll get lots of wear out of them if you decide to purchase. I'm so in love with the vintage looking Marlies clutch, Blonde, Echo, Playful, Selma and Crepe.
I'm also lusting after these new styles, aren't they beautiful?

Kurt Geiger Sale

...and here's some fabulous shoes from Kurt Geiger, KG and Carvela. The prices aren't the cheapest though and as I'm in love with so many pairs (Cheeky, Cherub, Giselle, Gang, Goldie, Hattie), I'll probably have to pass on them.

Sale Shoes

I've been busy trawling through websites to pick you the best of the current sale shoes (it's a hard job...). Unfortunately, I think I'd need a spare few thousand if I wanted to buy all of these, so I'll just have to dream!

Let's start with Faith. Their sale has been going for a little while, so stocks are very low. There's an extra 10% off on sale goods on the website if you enter the code EX10SALE at the checkout. Plus remember to check Debenhams too as they also stock Faith instore and online.

..and I just had to show you these fabulous new platforms from the Gil Carvalho at Faith range.

Keira & Sienna in London

What did I tell you? I knew Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller would up the glam a notch for the London premiere of their new film 'Edge of Love' in London. Being Scottish, I'm a little disappointed that they didn't make more of an effort for the Edinburgh premiere earlier in the week, but...oh well. Keira wore a ruffled, purple Erdem gown, while Sienna looked lovely in a beautiful red, prom dress and changed into a cream, frilled number for the after-party. I wasn't overly impressed with either girls choice of footwear, Siennas patent courts were a little bland and Keiras square toe/heeled shoes were too clumpy for the dress. As for Keiras continual comments of denying she's too skinny and claims of being "twice the size" of most other Hollywood actresses, I don't think so! Just look at that side view and bones jutting out.

Yet more shoe bargains

I know, I know, more shoes, but I couldn't help myself. These Kate Kuba inspired boots at Barratts were down to £5 each. How much of a bargain is that? There's not much you can get for a tenner these days, so I was really chuffed to manage to get 2 pairs of boots for that. I already bought the green 'Catherine' ankle boots when they first came out last year (now £7.50) and have had quite a bit of wear out of them. I was impressed that I managed to talk myself out of the lovely bronze 'Kalma' peep-toes at £10. I already have a few pairs of brown, gold, bronze shoes, so probably didn't need another pair. Head over there now and try and find yourself a bargain, even the newer styles are down to £20-25 and shipping is just £2.95 per order.

More bargains

I also received a makeup order today from Magic Makeup (I'm a regular customer there) filled with bargains. Among other things, I bought 8 Urban Decay Liquid Eyeliners in Speed, Urban FX, Shattered, Smog, Crash, Chains, Spare Change and Thames. Reduced to only £2.50 each, I like the precise, small brush and am well known for my liner flicks, so will get a lot of use out of these. I can't wait to try them all.

Earlier in the week, I placed an order for some sale items from Dorothy Perkins. This lovely floral print dress was down to £20, the shoes were all £15 each (remember I mentioned the brogues in a post below? I couldn't decide between black or cream, so got both) and the fringed sandal is also available in hot pink, (but not in my size). I also used the code "DPfabulous" and received a further 20% off my order
Today I took advantage of the free shipping at ASOS (see post earlier this week) and ordered TheBalm Hot Mama blush, supposedly an excellent dupe for Nars Orgasm. I had to buy these lace-up shoes that they got in this morning, I wanted them in black and green, but finally settled with just the green (for now). They remind me of the boots that Office had a wee while ago, worn by Denise Van Outen. If anything I actually prefer the cheaper ASOS pair.

Finally, I made a small order at BeautyCounterDirect today (another place I'm a regular at) for some Fake Bake blush at £2.50 each and also added a free Too Faced Unicorn Palette to my basket (use code SUG59).

Afternoon Delights

ER repeats are shown on More4 every lunchtime and I try as hard as I can not to watch because I know I'll get hooked and there goes an hour every day watching episodes that I've seen so many times I know all the words. This week has been excellent though and todays episode, 'Orion in the Sky' especially weepy.
Dr Greene finishes his last shift in the ER and literally 1 second into the programme my eyes are filled with tears. Dr Greene is bouncing a basketball, not a particularly sad moment I know, but it's the 'ER-weepy-Greene-is-dying music' that invariably ensues crying each time it plays. 10 minutes later, he has a 'last chat' with his ex-wife, cue more music and I'm gone, but I know the worst is yet to come.
Twenty minutes from the end and Mark decides against having any more treatment, as 'frequent flyer' Al wails in the background (me too). Greene sees his last patient and I know what's coming next, Al salutes goodbye, (gets me everytime) and Mark has those lingering looks with the ER staff. At this point todays makeup is well and truly ruined and it's just as well I know this episode off by heart, as I can barely hear anything above the loud sobs coming from me as I rush to get tissues (I should've been prepared I know!). Before I know it, it's 3pm and I'm all cried out, puffy eyed and not got a thing done! What an episode..."You set the tone, Carter", indeed you do.
PS, I can't wait for next weeks episodes, some of my all -time favourite ER moments, the crossover with Third Watch, 'The Letter', Carter and Abby outside the bar after Greene dies, lockdown in the ER and finally Carby together!!!! Oh the joys.

My week of purchases and orders!

Wow, it's been quite a week for bargains. In the next few posts I'm going to let you know what I've bought this week (lots of parcels came today, me likey!) and what I've ordered.

First up today,I got 2 lovely pairs of shoes from Shoemissy. If you didn't know, Shoemissy is a wonderful site which sells customised shoes. I recently bought a beautiful sparkly pair with rosette from Coco Violet, which unfortunately are too small for me. So I was delighted when both pairs arrived and fitted me perfectly.
The pictures don't really do the shoes justice, they are uber pretty. 'Boop' (above) are black high heeled courts with really cute round toe (which make your feet look tiny) and concealed platform (love that) and a huge black and white polka dot scrunchy bow. 'Chica' (below) are actually covered in black lace, which you can't really see in the pic and have a beautiful bright purple/blue/green bow and trimmed with white ric-rac braid.
Each come in a plastic see-through box, well wrapped and with a lovely handwritten note too. Postage is free on all items and I ordered on the 17th and they arrived today (20th), so quick delivery. There's a half price sale on just now to make way for new stock, so they were a total bargain too.

Shoe Envy

Why is this post in green writing? Well, it's because I'm green with...shoe envy! Check out all the fabulous footwear I spotted on celebs today. As if the cute shoe-boots from Keira and Sienna weren't enough!

First up is Charlize Theron at the premiere of her latest film in Moscow, I think these are probably Dior, I love the patent/cut-out detailing and massive heel, super hot.
Fergie, ok so her actual outfit is a bit too much of everything, but these may be my favourite pair of the bunch. Patent strappy, zip-ups, very much the 'in' footwear and I love them.
I've already shown my love for these Balenciaga boots and now Rihanna has a gorgeous pair (ignore her strange nappy skirt/shorts combo) and check out that mosaic style heel. If I win the lottery on Saturday, these will be mine!
Hilary Duff, looked great in a bright blue dress teamed with some fierce looking footwear (noting a trend here). I'm not overly keen on the gold studs, they look a little cheap, but other than that these are a great shape, lovely!
Camilla Belle stepped out in these high heeled gladiator sandals, how is it that celebs aren't having as hard a time as I am finding the perfect heeled glads? Finally, I know these are 'old' and we've got the 'Tribute' sandal now (not nearly as fabulous as the originals in my opinion), but I still adore the platforms. I also like Salma Hayek and it's not often she's seen on the red-carpet, so I'll shamelessly flash some more pics of the YSL Tributes!

Sienna and Keira in Edinburgh

It was a case of who could look like they had made the least effort at the Edge of Love premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival yesterday (above). The film (written by Keira Knightleys Mum) stars Keira, Sienna Miller and Matthew Rhys. Both females opted for a masculine feel with Keira in an unflattering, cream jumpsuit and sparkly jacket, Sienna wore a strange fringed dress? with black trilby. Even Matthew managed to get it wrong in a dated looking, baggy trouser suit.
Keira managed to look a little more 'dressed' in a floral Luella blouse, black pencil skirt and high heeled shoe boots at the photocall (above). Sienna looked like she hadn't tried at all in a casual striped t-shirt dress, black cardi and pixie boots. Both actresses would benefit from a little bit of jewellery or even a hairbrush! What's with looking so unkempt? Although I must admit, I love the footwear, so props to both for that. Co-star, Matthew Rhys looked similarly dishevelled in scruffy jeans, brown jacket and a white shirt. I'm sure (or hoping) that the premiere held tonight in London will see a difference in attire for all three actors!
