Flashback Beauty Friday 87: Hard Candy Eye Shadow Quartet

Image
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items. Warning, there's over 40 photos in this post, so grab a cuppa! This is the post I've been teasing for weeks.  An iconic oldie and one that I just couldn't resist photographing in a big way, especially when the swatches started. I'm not kidding when I say they brought a tear to my eye, they are sooo good. Firstly, last week was the second of my lip stain pens, this time Urban Decay's offering , so click that if you have time to read it later. If you've already seen that, then read on for the mega post.

Flashback Beauty Friday 81: MAC x Alexander McQueen Eyeshadows

Image
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items. Finally, a night I could sleep with clothes on and even a thin blanket at times. I've really been suffering in this heat the past wee while, I'm not enjoying it at all. I'm fine without rain and like the bright sky, but I can't stand being too hot. I was able to take some photos yesterday of a collection I've been meaning to share for Flashback Beauty Friday for a while now, but there's too many photos to get through today, so I'll save it for next week. Last time, was the pretty Paul & Joe hummingbird print on a fan and lipstick, today it's another fusion between fashion and beauty.

MAC Bronzing: Haul & Swatches (Summer 2020)

Image
Post does not contain gifted items and contains some affiliate links. I took a bit of a chance ordering the MAC Bronzing collection earlier this month. It's not launched in the US yet, I believe it came out here (UK) first and for me anyway, it was out of the blue as I hadn't seen any teasers and for some reason MAC don't email me newsletters of new releases (yep, I've ticked the box to allow it). I used to buy (direct from them) regularly and I think at some point the emails just stopped and my interest waned as I didn't stay on top of new launches like I used to. Marketing, take note!  As I've been saying on the blog, I'm really enjoying the MAC limited releases again. The second I saw this, I was intrigued with the packaging. It reminded me slightly of the water droplet (aka the best packaging ever) Alluring Aquatic range from summer 2014, so I ordered some bits. There were no social media photos or swatches anywhere . MAC describe their shades, ...

PHP's Beloved Beauty Bits (December)

Image
It's been a long time since my last BBB post. I attempted several times over the summer and time always got away from me and I vowed to do it the next month, then the next....and now it's a new year! So anyway, here we go with the products I've been loving during December. First up is Lancome Teint Miracle foundation in 005 Beige Ivoire. You'll note I only have a tiny bit of this bottle left (breathing into a paper bag at the thought) and that's because once I started using it, I became obsessed and wore it every day all through summer and autumn. After being similarly obsessed with YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat, I decided to 'force' myself into trying something else from my stash and was so impressed with this, that like I said, I practically used it all up (until I panicked at the tiny amount left and reverted back to the YSL one). So why do I like it so much? Well the colour (the lightest) is a pretty decent match for my pale skin, it covers beau...

PHP's Beloved Beauty Bits (April)

Image
I often see bloggers write monthly round-ups of the beauty products they've been loving and for some reason last month I was particularly conscious of the bits and bobs I was using. So I thought I'd create a new (hopefully monthly) feature of my Beloved Beauty Bits (BBB). Beauty bloggers tend to be pretty fickle and the product you love to pieces one month, doesn't get a look in the next. I'm always trying out new things and especially through my Lipstick Challenge, have been rediscovering old favourites, so this will tackle all those! Read on for my favourites over the last few weeks... A lot of my beloved bits have been based around my new hair colour and style. Starting with dry shampoo. It's always been a staple of mine as my hair doesn't get washed every day (and doesn't like being washed every day), so this tides you over in between times. However since cutting my hair shorter, I've been bordering on obsessed with the powdery stuff! I'v...

Review & Swatches: Soap & Glory Lid Stuff

Image
So I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the eyeshadow palettes that's part of the new cosmetics line by Soap & Glory last week. Honestly, I'm really intrigued by the whole line because a) I love Soap & Glory and b) I always like to check out new makeup! I haven't had a chance to pop into Boots yet to suss out the whole line, but I'm very interested in knowing if the palest foundation shade will be light enough for me and I'd like to swatch the lipsticks and check out the liquid eyeliner too. There are three different shades to choose from in the eye palettes called 'Lid Stuff', and mine is named 'Off The Wall Flowers'. They come housed in a palette reasonably similar to MAC with a clear lid, gold lettering, black plastic base and 4 round eyeshadows each 1.5g. Each colour has an individual name and that's written on the back of the compact. I'd like to think by now that you know me well enough to realise that shimmering t...
