My Favourite Sunglasses And Why I'll Only Buy High End

Image
You probably know this, but several years ago I developed an obsession with sunglasses. It began with cheapo Primark ones that I liked and at £2 a pop, didn't hurt my bank balance. One in every colour? Sure. I bought loads. I liked that it was another aspect of my outfit that I could chop and change to whatever I fancied that day, like jewellery or a handbag. Then, I don't know what triggered it, but I started seeking out unusual shapes or colours or frames with fancy bits on them and thus delved into the world of luxury eyewear. I bought the stunning loopy legged 'Minimal Baroque' from Prada, sleek and fierce cat-eye 'Nikita' by Tom Ford and a couple of deliciously quirky takes on 'cat eyes' from Irregular Choice (well one was a birthday present). Last year I eventually tracked down the gingham D&G frames that I'd unwillingly left behind in TKMaxx years previous. I even found the limited edition red Dior Miss Cherie pair that again, I...

Mid Week Must Haves

Image
Hola, how is this week treating you so far? I'm pretty wrecked, but plodding along. Whenever I saw this High End Hottie in an email, I instantly knew it had to be included in MWMH. So I racked my brains trying to find a High Street Honey worthy of sitting alongside such a magnificent find. I spent ages ...then it dawned on me, I had the perfect pair already on my wishlist*. Waste of time, silly me! Mid Week Must Haves by pinkhairedprincess

Irregular Choice Flirtation Sunglasses

Image
It was my birthday last weekend. My parents were away on holiday, so my little sister did her best, but I was unable for visitors, an outing or any fun celebrations really.  It turned out to be a really uneventful and pretty boring day to be honest (other than the hour of watching 'Most Haunted'-totally my guilty pleasure).  I know my health and ability hasn't been great for 12 years, but this year has just been horrid and I hope things turn around soon.  Anyway, Mum had asked if there was something I had in mind for my birthday and I knew of the perfect thing.

ASOS Sunglasses

Image
You'll probably be aware I have a bit of a sunglasses obsession. One that has definitely grown over the last couple of years. I am sooo excited that we've had some sunshine recently so I've been able to wear my Prada 'Baroque Minima' and Irregular Choice 'Mischief' again! When I'm regularly checking the 'new in' at ASOS, I keep noticing more and more sunglasses that I'd like to add to my ( already rather large ) collection. It's getting quite ridiculous the number of lovely frames they have!  First up are these  Round frame with pearl highbrow £18, ooooh I likey! They have an air of Chanel about them don't they?  They're very unusual and unlike anything I already own.  Embellishment seems to be 'in' for sunglasses right now with these  Tortoiseshell with flower embellishment £18, pretty but still practical I think.   These are a little more kitschy and really cute,  Square frames with flower embellishment £18 I...

Seeing Summer

Image
You may recall I was more than a little obsessed with sunglasses last year. I did get my wear out of them all (I actually bought more than was shown in that post) and considering the majority were cheap Primark purchases, I did pretty well! ASOS have been adding some amazing styles recently, I've been keeping a close eye on them.  There's some fantastic shapes and styles and I'm seriously lusting after them...even if I could get 6 Primark pairs for the price of one! This is my shortlist, my absolute favourites; ASOS Cat Eye Sunglasses With Contrast Highbrow £12.  I absolutely love the elegant shape of these frames.  Gawgeous! ASOS Tort Cat Eye Sunglasses £12 a slightly softer version of the Alexander Wang/Linda Farrow shades, also available in plain black. Mango Barbados Sunglasses £23, this pair are quite pricey (by Primark standards), but they're a modern and classic all rolled into one-very simple and I love them. ASOS Half Rim Sunglasses £10, I had sl...

Sunglasses From Kurt Geiger

Image
Kurt Geiger are one of my favourite places to shop for shoes, but they now do sunglasses. There are 6 styles in 25 colours and the glasses are handmade in Italy, prices start at £140. I suit bigger, round frames, so the Jacqui with Swarovski crystal detail would be right up my street. Personally I loved the makeup they used in these images, I think it successfully epitomizes the mood of each style.
