Monster High Monday: Dot Dead Gorgeous Operetta

Image
I have to confess that I haven't watched any of the Monster High webisodes for some time now (just haven't had time). I have seen the 'newer' character Operetta in some of the DVD releases though.  Although the way MH are releasing new characters, Operetta is pretty ancient by now! I think the doll looks more 'grown-up' than the rest of the gang (definitely not school age) and comes across as older than the others. In the cartoon series, she does have an air of maturity around her and can be quite snooty towards the others which is rather amusing! She's not an enemy of the central characters, but I wouldn't say she's in that inner circle either. Anyway, I think she's a really beautiful doll and character. She always has pin-up, rockabilly type clothes and accessories.  Her fiery red hair with black streaks is usually styled in quiffs or victory rolls which look awesome. As the daughter of The Phantom Of The Opera, she's marked dow...

Fearne Cotton for Very 'Seagull Dress'

Image
You may recall me mentioning I liked this dress months ago when it first appeared on the Very site.  To be honest, I find their 'celebrity/designer' brands far too expensive to buy outside of the sales, so I've waited a long time for this one to be reduced!  The Fearne Cotton yellow seagull dress  is quite similar to my lilac pansy wrap-over dress (also by Fearne) that I wear a lot, so I knew how it would fit and what the quality is like. This one features a dip hem, which I can't get enough of just now.  I've been desperately seeking dip hem and half sheer (skirted) dresses for ages, but they can be hard to find in my size and often come with a very 'party' like top half, such as one shoulder or strapless.  That or they're skirts and I'm always so uncomfortable with what to wear on my top half in that situation.  Anyway, this one is slightly dipped, I'm still looking for one that dips to my ankles and is knee-ish length at it's shortest p...

Boots Christmas Haul

Image
I've been working on these photos for some time and I'm sorry it's taken so long, but it can be very time consuming labelling and resizing everything. This little cosmetics haul was from the first Boots Christmas night I went to...back in October or the beginning of November! I also got some Lancome stuff, but I'm saving that for a separate post. First up we have the L'Oreal Super Liner, liquid liners which were on 3 for 2. Everybody asks the secret to my perfect liner flicks and I have to give credit to this eyeliner, it's simply amazing and definitely my must-have beauty product. I first started my retro flicks in my teens with a Lancome ArtLiner I'd been given (I worked on the perfume/cosmetics counter of a local chemist after school and got loads of freebies), little did I know it's actually quite difficult to apply liquid liner-it was always so easy with this one! There are very few differences between the Lancome and L'Oreal ones (if ...
