Monster High Monday: Ghouls Rule Clawdeen

Image
This week I decided to go all-out with MHM, in my most daring yet. I tackled a glitter mono brow, one leopard print eye and completely lilac lips. Oh yeah! Monster High released a DVD to coincide with the Ghouls Rule range and as the characters attend a Halloween party in it, the clothes, hair and makeup is a little more wild than usual. Clawdeen Wolf gets a makeover with long lilac hair and shaved leopard print sides, with crazy makeup to boot. I'd just written my review of the new L'Oreal eyeliners when I realised I could use them to their full potential on a Monster High Monday as mad as this one. I found the Blackbuster marker pen one was the easiest to use and you can read my full review of the liners here , where I've used them more conventionally. If you look closely at Clawdeens eye makeup, you'll notice there's actually two different shades of green around the eye. On the 'plain' eye she has a dusky green up to the brow and under the ...

Haul Pics C2000, GOSH, NYC

Image
Here are the last of my haul pics from last week. I did indeed forget to photograph Lancome La Base Pro that I bought. It's not very interesting to look at anyway. A glass bottle (sure it would've been cheaper had that been plastic). Anyway it's £24.50 and I used my Advantage Card points, so technically it was free (yay). Collection 2000 Hot Looks nail polishes were 2 for £2.99 in Superdrug and 2 for £3 in Boots (or that could be the other way around). These little babies were the main point of my shopping trip. Superdrug only had 2 colours left, so I got them both. Boots had loads, so I swithered between them all, then bought another 4. I wanted to compare the mint green one to Barry M, but they were out of stock of that and I had a funny feeling they were very similar. When I got them home, I was right, there isn't a huge difference. C2000 is perhaps more bluey, of course they may look different on the nail. The greys on the other hand, C2000 is much lighter (whic...

Boots/Superdrug Haul

Image
Hi everyone, had a fabby time shopping today. I will have more pics and details for you tomorrow, but in the meantime I took these photos quickly just now. I'm really pleased with my loot. First up my Playboy cosmetics package arrived before we left this morning, so I still have that to properly look at. I went crazy with the new nail polish colours at Collection 2000, plus I picked up yet another 2 glitter eyeliners. It was 3 for 2 at GOSH and I got this gorgeous metallic eyeliner (that has better staying power than anything else known to (wo)man), nude Darling lipstick and a gorgeous nude lipgloss too. I must say I was very put off with the mucky testers and general gross-ness of the GOSH counter. It really makes me not want to buy anything when it's like that. Don't you think? A lipstick from NYC which I tried that looks completely different swatched to in the tube. Revlon Nude Attitude matte lipstick (obsessed with nudes I know!). Lancome La Base Pro, after Lancome neve...

LOTD Challenge Day 10

Image
This is one of my favourite lipsticks, ever. It's a deep mauve-brown but the reason it looks so great is that it has a greyish tone to it (although I'm not sure it would work with very warm skintones). I adore the consistency too, it's pigmented and thick enough without feeling dry or heavy and always makes my lips look much fuller. To be honest I'm pretty bummed that I can't wear this again for a whole year (or however long I keep the challenge going), unless of course I pair it with a different lipliner or gloss over the top? Urban Decay Lip Pencil in Midnight Cowboy NYC Ultra Moist Lip Wear in 321B Moonglow Plus I would love your input to help shape the LOTD Challenge. I need your suggestions for a challenge within the challenge. I could maybe try a week of red lips, plumping lipgloss, MAC only, super cheap brands or high end, Lancome JT's...there are endless possibilities. Let me know, your opinion counts-afterall you are the reader and I want to please ...
