Mid Week Must Haves
Hola, how is this week treating you so far? I'm pretty wrecked, but plodding along. Whenever I saw this High End Hottie in an email, I instantly knew it had to be included in MWMH. So I racked my brains trying to find a High Street Honey worthy of sitting alongside such a magnificent find. I spent ages...then it dawned on me, I had the perfect pair already on my wishlist*. Waste of time, silly me!

I Spy A Pretty Shoe
I'd like to think my taste in shoes is quite diverse. For example, I love a lady-like, elegant peep-toe, but am also fond of clumpy platform boots. Sometimes I want frills and glitter and charms and patterns and other times I'm happy with a sleek, plain style. Usually what I wear each day is dictated by my mood and I like having various personalities or sides to my style. Recently though, it seems I've been on a 'pretty-shoe' mission! Ok, so I have bought a couple of pairs of boots, but mostly it's been court shoes and a growing obsession with glitter! If you're flagging mid-week, then this little selection should revitalise you, it's really just an excuse to look at pretty shoes ; )
Above, Carvela 'Antibes' in pink glitter. Remember last year, right before Christmas, my parents took me shopping in Edinburgh for a couple of hours? We went to the Kurt Geiger store and I bought some sale shoes, but spied these pale pink glittery gems that were just new in. At £120, they were out of my price-range, but I never forgot them and my patience paid off. They are gorgeous!
These Carvela 'Attack' in Gunmetal glitter, have been all I've been able to think about lately. I usually try to avoid glitter shoes, because in all honesty, how often do you really wear them? I've said in the past, that I'll wear them regularly, then never do, however I happily wore these today and laughed at the strange looks my feet were attracting! I've not been fond of the pointed toe trend that resurfaced as I did it last time it was in fashion and now prefer rounder toes. There's just something so sexy about these though, that I still wanted them. The toe isn't elongated and the vamp is cut low, so it's a really flattering shape on the foot.
You'll probably recall my lovely suede Miu Miu embellished courts with metal heel that I ordered a few months ago. Sadly I haven't had the opportunity to wear them yet, but I must admit to taking them out of the box to stroke and admire regularly ; )
Then there was my lovely Moschino Cheap & Chic heart peep toes, which seems to have sparked a Moschino obsession in me (yes, I did just order my third bag today and it's the original one I wanted ages ago-squeal). I bought these as a treat to myself for enduring rather uncomfortable dental procedures for weeks on end! I have my follow up appointment next week and I'm planning on wearing these to mark the occasion! What about you? Are you a sucker for a pretty shoe? Would you wear glitter and embellishments for daytime?

Sparkling Soles
You know I love glitter and sparkles and also shoes. So glitter shoes are a no-brainer! This season, sparkly uppers aren't enough though; embellishment has progressed to the soles. Yep you heard right, glitter soles is where it's at girls! I think it's utterly fan-freakin-tastic! I happen to own a pair of glitter soled shoes (my Kandee 'Diamonds') because y'all know I'm soooo ahead of the trends! However these savvy pairs have no glitter on the base, just sparkles where you can see 'em. I can't see anything against having pretty soles to look at especially when it in no way affects the way you walk in the shoes and in these instances isn't ruined by walking on them. Here's a selection of what Net-A-Porter currently have to offer
The stones on these Lanvin crystal embellished pink satin courts (£970) are exactly like those in the heel of my Fashionistas Corso Como suede courts. I have to admit to finding several little cone shaped jewels on my floor after wearing mine, so let's hope these suckers are well stuck in!
Now these are pure decadence! The rich hue, the jewelled heel, which almost disappears into the sole of the same material, plus you get a little smattering of crystals on the toe too! It's no wonder the Jimmy Choo 'Tame' cost £1495!
If ever there were a queen or king of glitter shoes, it would be Miu Miu, so of course they would know how to do a glitter sole. These Miu Miu wine suede peep toes (£450) are rather tame for the brand, until you note the luxurious glitter sole, ahhh lovely.
It would probably be much harder to miss the glitter on these Miu Miu pink suede and purple glitter platforms (£445). I love the glitter peeking through on the heel, it's utterly fabulous.
By gum they even do boots! Yep take a rather standard pair of black ankle boots, add some silver glitter to the heel and sole and wham, you have party central! Miu Miu black suede and silver glitter ankle boots £550.
If the pink satin wasn't quite for you, then how about these Lanvin embellished black leather courts £1005? Pricier, but more subtle and much more versatile.
If you prefer your glitter where you can see it, then you'd be bonkers not to fall in love with these Charlotte Olympia 'Priscilla' multi-coloured glitter courts £645. One word; fab-u-lous! Will you be looking for glitter soles this party season?

New Miu Miu Shoes & Love Moschino Brooch
Quick picture post of my new shoes that arrived yesterday. I bought them from Yoox on the 19th, they were shipped from Italy on the 20th and arrived on the 25th, which is excellent!
This Miu Miu box is slightly different to my older ones, with a brocade style lining, ooooh fancy!
You know you're onto a good thing, when you get branded tissue paper and dust-bags. Even more so if they put spare heel tips in a separate envelope!
The shoes are black suede, they sometimes look navy in certain lights, but are black. They have amazing embellishments all over and a softly rounded toe.
The heel is gold metal ('knitting needle' as my Mum would say) with the embellishment detail again at the top, which is just beautiful.
I also purchased a Love Moschino brooch, which was basically free as I had a 10% off and free delivery code which took the total back to the original price of the shoes with shipping! I'm so crap at maths until it comes to working out discounts on purchases, then I turn into Carol Vorderman! Who knew designer brooches even got their own dustbags? Lucky little lady!
No idea what I'm going to wear either with, but I'm sure they'll be working their way into an outfit post soon enough. I'm still sulking after my disappointment over the Love Moschino bags I purchased and didn't purchase at the weekend! I'm stalking the site daily in the hope the sale comes back....and trying desperately not to spend the money I set aside for them! Anyway, glad my lovely shoes fit, have you bought anything this week?

I Want Kitsch!
I'm rather obsessed with the SS10 Miu Miu collection, as many of you are. Although I am a little surprised by the universal appreciation of the collection and more-so the shoes as I didn't think they would appeal to all. I loved the fabric colours and prints from the minute I saw them, cats+swallows+florals=totally cute, in my book. The shoes weren't an instant hit with me though, it took a little while for me to get past the clumpy, block heel 90's shape to see their true beauty. Now, however, they are all I can think about! The pale pink swallow print heels encrusted with crystals are the pair that I'm completely lusting after. I can't put into words, just how much I need them!
It annoys me when I'm quite prepared to pay the big bucks for designer shoes, but I just can't find them anywhere. Living outside of London and not being able to visit the Miu Miu department or store in person means you have to rely on online shops such as Net-A-Porter and they pretty much sell out of the shoes the minute they arrive or they don't get them at all! I realise the chances of owning these shoes are now extremely slim...probably impossible. Just as I admit defeat though, River Island (my other current obsession), come to my rescue with their take on the Miu Miu.
You've got the satin fabric in pale pink (below) or navy blue (above), the kitsch print (cherries instead of birds), the chunky heel (although this one tapers in) and the platform (not as large as Miu Miu). The cross-over straps and gems (yipee) finish the look. River Island have of course changed the style slightly and added features like a peep toe and extra ankle strap, so don't expect to be purchasing a replica. I prefer this though because while I can't always afford the designer item but still want the look, an exact copy i.e. something pretending to be the real design doesn't sit well with me (it's blatant copying not to mention the unethical underworld of fake designer goods).
When payday rolls round on Wednesday (*please don't sell-out before then*) I'm hoping to purchase these...probably in pink, £54.99 and a couple of dresses I've had my eye on for a while. The only thing I wish is that the platform was slightly larger, then I'd be 100% in love with them. What do you think?
