Irregular Choice: Disney Shoe Room Collection

Image
Do you remember earlier in the year I showed you my Disney shoe shelves in the shoe room? I felt I was at the stage that I had enough pairs to put them all in one unit back then and indeed I did, with a couple of shelves to spare. In the months since, I've accumulated several more and by sheer fluke, had the required 32 pairs for my cabinet (8 shelves, 4 pairs per shelf) and 4 boots left over (All Mad Here, Lost Your Muchness, Hot Diggety Dog and She's Hip, He's Hop) that are too tall to fit in anyway. Last time I tried to do most of the shelf arranging with pictures on my laptop, before tackling the real thing (to save energy), but this time I decided to just go for it (with the help of my sister). I felt there were too many to play around with in photo form.

Irregular Choice: Waikiki Review

Image
Firstly I'd really like to apologise for the tardiness of this review. I actually took these photos at the beginning of May, not long after the shoes were released, but haven't had time to write the post until now. I'd hoped to get it out before going to London (for the Toy Story launch), but that well and truly didn't happen!  Anyway hopefully this is a little sunshine to brighten up a dreich Autumn day. You know how I posted my Top 12 Irregular Choice shoes of 2017 the other day? I'm calling it now, that these will be in my 2018 favourites, I just love them. I'd unfortunately had to bypass all the new releases at the start of 2018 as I had no money. Then the announcement came of hula girl heels and it was one I knew I couldn't miss. I also got Hono Lulu in blue, which were my favourite until I saw the Waikiki shortly before their release at 12pm. This style was an Ashbury Skies exclusive, so only available through their website and Irregular Ch...

Irregular Choice: My Top 12 Of 2017

Image
I don't think I've ever done a post like this before, but at the start of the year (these photos were taken on a very grey January), I thought it would be fun to put together my favourite Irregular Choice shoes and boots of 2017. I get asked for favourites a lot and I never really have an answer as I find it far too difficult to choose. I've tailored my collection over the years to those I really love and am lucky I can collect anything rather than having to buy specifics, like "black shoes" or "mid heels" etc.  So it's quite hard to pick one over the other, when you collect for passion rather than necessity. There are of course some you like that little bit more and that can be for a variety of reasons, not just aesthetics, but Irregular Choice make such interesting and innovative styles, that it made my job very difficult to select just 12. Actually it began as a Top 10 before I realised that was impossible. Look at it as one a month instea...

Irregular Choice: Fairy Toadstool Character Heels

Image
Mega excitement today with the arrival of the new Irregular Choice fairy toadstool heels that launched on Friday. I bought two pairs, with the intention of returning the shoes if the boots looked hideous on me, as the boots were my first choice. I don't know when (I'm honestly shattered just from opening the box), but I'll have more photos and info when I do a Shoesday fit review on The Shoe Girl Diaries and a more in-depth review here, but I wanted to give you my first impressions.

Irregular Choice Disney: Announcement & My Collection

Image
Irregular Choice announced their 8th Disney collection today, Toy Story! Coming soon, this is the 6th character partnership we've seen (both Star Wars and Alice In Wonderland had 2 waves) and a collaboration with Pixar for the very first time. I really appreciate how diverse the ranges have been thus far. As "irregular" as Irregular Choice may be, they still manage to be very inclusive and aim for something for everyone in my opinion. The Disney umbrella itself is a broad one, so if you are a fan, that doesn't necessarily mean every story or character appeals to you. Star Wars for example I've never watched and have no interest in, yet there were shoes I liked.  I'm not the biggest Muppets fan, but that collection was my absolute favourite and I wanted everything from it.  So far Irregular Choice have chosen classic characters like Mickey & Minnie, a traditional Disney princess in the form of Cinderella. Something a little quirkier with Alice, a gi...

Irregular Choice: Mermaid Storage Chest

Image
An Irregular Choice themed post today, but not shoes or a bag as you'd expect! Last October, I finally took the plunge and bought one of the amazing giant, shoe box style, storage units from Irregular Choice . I say "finally" because it all started ages ago, when I saw a video doing the rounds, of what looked like a standard Christian Louboutin beige box. However someone walked up to it and lifted the lid up to reveal several shoes inside and a drawer underneath housed even more. It was actually a piece of furniture (the size of a table), designed to hold shoes. It looked absolutely amazing and we all got to thinking how cool it would be if the fabulousness that are IC boxes, were made into something similar. Given how stunning those boxes are, could you just imagine how pretty they would be? A company in Nottingham ( Unique Walls ) began custom orders and then a while later they became available through IC. This is when I decided that I should really invest in one...

Ikea Synas With Irregular Choice

Image
The second part of my shoe room post (after accidentally deleting it) on The Shoe Girl Diaries is coming (I promise). The room is taking longer to put together than I thought it would (which is quite discouraging) and is constantly changing, making it that bit harder. Between the work involved and my poor health, it's tiny bits at a time and you just get into it when it's time to stop. With new buys, I've had to rearrange previously completed sections, so yeah, it's a constant work in progress. I did have all my special character heels in one unit (though they've since outgrown this), with the heels facing outwards, but these Irregular Choice 'Glissade' just weren't quite right. They were lost and not shown off to their best, so I'd been on the look-out for something better for them.

Irregular Choice Bear Shoes

Image
Bears are rather prevalent in the Irregular Choice AW15 range, but actually when I look back at my collection, they've been a recurring theme over the years. I took these photos a couple of months ago (before another bear joined the gang) and count 14 bear print, heel, charm or otherwise shoes. I had no idea I owned so many! So I thought we'd take a closer look at my collection and also those from the new range.

Out Now: Irregular Choice Dreamy (Santa)

Image
I realise this doesn't give you much time to get organised, but I'd hoped to write it yesterday. I ended up spending the entire day eBaying, which further aggravated my bad back and in between taking photos and measuring shoes, I was alternating between on all fours panting or on my back on the floor taking deep breaths, so I wouldn't be sick from the pain! I'm going to try and take it easy today and hope it goes away, because when you're counting down the minutes until your next dose of painkillers, that's not a good thing! Irregular Choice 's 'Dreamy' Santa heels are launching in the UK today at 12 noon, online and instore. You can read my full review here from when I bought mine, but I just wanted to update with some more photos because I know some of you were interested in them. They are slip-on courts with the same moulded heel as the gnome, but his clothes, skin and little details are all painted differently. The shoe itself is made of c...

Jeffrey Campbell 'Lita' Comparison

Image
As you know when it comes to shoes or shopping in general, nothing comes easy! I've had my eye on these leopard print and black leather Lita 's by Jeffrey Campbell at Office for some time now. At £120 it was both more than I was prepared to pay and too much to justify spending on yet another pair of Lita's and another pair of shoes (because we all know I'm not light in that department). They got slashed in price to £60 though, a bargain-deal, but I was still somewhat reluctant to dive in and buy them. They had tonnes of stock though, so I watched each day as it got less and less (stalking is one of my love-hate hobbies in life). I also checked if my nearest Office store had them as I detest paying postage for anything I order, no matter what it is or where it's coming from, but Office only seem to offer free delivery on full price items.  No luck, they had the grey version, but I wanted the brighter leopard (fussy to a fault). However, I decided to bite...

Just Because..

Image
I was deleting old images on my computer and came across these. They just looked so pretty-I had to share! above; poodle wedge ankle boots and pink Bambino both Irregular Choice Suede cuff sandals Prada, Faith fishnet boots L.A.M.B. Pink Eloise courts Kurt Geiger, swarovski heeled peep toes Miu Miu, mint green courts Alexander McQueen Aqua metallic Margaux wedges Terry de Havilland

A Closer Look...

Image
I've decided it's better to keep busy and try and take my mind of the pain, so here's a closer look at a couple of styles I've worn lately on The Shoe Girl Diaries . First up are my pink suede shoes by New Look Limited Edition, which are awaiting a Louis Vuitton style makeover! I wore them here on Day 246 . As I think I mentioned on TSGD, they have this fabulous round shaped heel which tapers in the middle, with a large circular heel tip on the end. I also mentioned that I loved the fastening-the buckle around the ankle, so many shoes these days, you have to fiddle around with tiny fastenings or (my most hated) elasticated buttons-damn you! Then we have the gorgeous Prada cuff sandals from SS08, which I wore here on Day 238 . Lovely muted colours of mauve and plum and I love how pretty the shoes are from every single angle, they are just so well made. Cross over strapping (one side that buckles and the other is elasticated and little too tight for me). The astoundin...

Today: The Shoe Girl Diaries

Image
I'm not feeling very well today, I just came over all funny after lunch-so I may not be posting anything other than this. They are my shoes that I'm wearing today for The Shoe Girl Diaries (click to see them on my feet). I don't normally post an image 'off my feet', but I thought they deserved another pic or two to show the detailing. I have some gorgeous images of my new River Island Design Forum ankle boots which I've been meaning to show you for days now. After I posted my bow sandals , they sold out online, so let's see what happens to the peep toe boots after I post them!
