I'm absolutely loving the look of everything, but haven't swatched them yet until I take proper photos for a blog post (and I didn't have the energy today). I did however, look out a couple of glosses that I knew I had in my stash that might be considered similar to But Ain't Got No Manners .

At the time, it was an online exclusive so there were no swatches or info as nobody had bought it yet. To be truthful I wasn't quite sure what I was buying, as it's an entirely new formula for the brand, but I ordered one of the mousse lip colours. I've been getting more and more into MAC again recently, but missed the Pony Park K-beauty collaboration last Autumn. A few weeks ago, I noticed they had some back in stock, so ordered the highlighter and a lip product. Again this was pegged as a mousse formula, so I wasn't quite sure what it was going to be like. When it arrived, it immediately struck me that it was similar to the Clarins one I'd bought (and promptly put away because I wasn't that enamoured with it), so I've photographed and swatched them both to review.

As promised, here are my comparison swatches of some of my MAC 'Alluring Aquatic' pieces. I raided my MAC lipstick tray to find something similar-rather randomly I might add! It's been so long since I've looked at makeup that I'm forgetting shade names and colours and had to check/open each one. However, I easily found several similar ones, some swatched very similarly, others not so much.

I mentioned when I bought Silver Dawn (Magnetic Nudes) eyeshadow by MAC last month, that it reminded me of one I already own. I couldn't remember the name at the time, but it is 'Smoke & Diamonds' (Starflash). I wanted to compare the two and at first glance, I was thinking I was rather hasty with my latest purchase as they seemed spookily similar. They are almost identical in the pan, you'll be hard pushed to see a difference. Silver Dawn (the new one) is patterned and Smoke & Diamonds (an older limited edition) is the plain one. Firstly on my fingertips, I found SD showed the twinkly sparkly bits in it more obviously than S&D and it also seemed to look more metallic than the other.  S&D looked more finely milled than SD.   The big difference though is most apparent in the swatches. Look at me being all regular with the swatch requests! Tej had commented on an old Rimmel lipstick swatch post of mine. She loved one of the lipsticks, which is now discontinued and wondered if I knew of any alternatives. None immediately came to mind, given that the colour isn't particularly unique within my lipsticks i.e. I own a lot of browns and nudes, so if a request comes in for anything else, it's very easy to locate the few that could be similar. That said, it doesn't mean I own a vast amount of perfect dupes for this, it means there's a lot of lipsticks to go through! I actually had no idea where to start so just had to methodically go through my lipstick drawers, picking out (hopefully) those that haven't been discontinued yet. I didn't attempt to look through my MAC tray because the majority of those are limited edition shades anyway and after finding many LE and/or discontinued shades last time , I didn't think it was very helpful. After my swatch request last month, I had another from Lissa Jaye  this time, regarding a YSL lipstick. I immediately came up with some comparisons, but finding the time to write it up has taken longer than I expected, so I apologise for that. I do love getting these requests though (and would kinda like to make it a regular feature) and will respond but it might take some time to fit it in around everything else. Hint-hint if they're lipsticks or pencils or something really easy to swatch then I'm likely to respond quicker : ) So Lissa wanted to know if I knew of any dupes for YSL Rouge Pur in 126 Cashmere Pink/Rose Cachemire. If it's because this line is now discontinued then the perfect dupe is YSL Rouge Pur Couture in 09 Rose Stiletto, the 'newer' version if you like. It's a really good match in colour. I love when you get in touch with requests for beauty posts or further help regarding something I've already posted, especially when it's something I can easily locate and re-photograph. I got one such email recently from Romy, asking for advice regarding NYX Round Lipsticks . Seeing as my NYX lippie posts always prove quite popular, I thought I'd take some new photos and updated swatches and post them here for everyone to see. Romy was particularly interested in brown lipsticks (so that's what I've concentrated on today) and I have to say this is what NYX really excel at. There are plenty of options and I own many of them. In my opinion these are not 'nude' colours, at least not for someone as pale as me (I'd recommend 617 Summer Love, a pinky beige for pale skinned gals). Ok, so here are some comparison swatches for the lip items I showed you earlier this week . Look at me being all organised and doing something when I say I will! First up is my Dior 'Mystic Metallics' Gloss in Magic and I've compared it with three other Dior glosses I bought a couple of months ago. Top to bottom or left to right are Addict Gloss in 311 Magic (the new one), Addict Ultra Glow Gloss in 216 Lace Beige, Addict Gloss in 223 Angelique and Addict Gloss in 413 Eclipse. I'd say the colours are most true in the photo above.  311 Magic (Shimmer) is a pale gold, which I was struggling to photograph in my original post. 216 Lace Beige is an older formula, similar to the pearly 216 Beige Songe in the updated line. It is a pearl finish as well and is a light beige nude. 223 Angelique is a 'pure' finish, with no pearl or shimmer and is a light peachy nude. 413 Eclipse is a pinky beige with a shimmer finish.
