Irregular Choice Sanrio Haul: First Impressions
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items.
Irregular Choice launched a big release last week, a collaboration with Sanrio, featuring Hello Kitty (HK), My Melody (MM), Little Twin Stars (LTS) and Gudetama. I really wanted the MM boots, but was unsure of sizing, so ordered two pairs and knowing I had one of those to return anyway, I got a bit carried away and ordered quite a lot. Mostly bags, they were good in this collection! My order arrived a few days ago and I've quickly photographed each thing, just to give a brief overview of what I thought. I know it's been a long time since I've written my detailed haul reviews...I have nowhere to photograph that type of thing upstairs and I just don't think I have the energy for those kinds of posts now, which is unfortunate. Anyway here's my thoughts, starting with those MM boots.

Irregular Choice Bag Collection
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifts.
I don't know what to call these bags, so the title is a bit vague, sorry! This is the next post in my Irregular Choice bag collection series, which has been ongoing since 2019. I haven't published a collective bag post this year, but this one is the biggest yet and I believe is the largest amount I have of one style. I think! I bought my first one, Flounder, in 2016, though the style had already been around a few years prior. I therefore tend to refer to these as the "Flounder bag style", but that's only relative to me I suppose and since The Little Mermaid launch at the end of 2019, when actual Flounder featured on bags, it's maybe a bit confusing to call them that. I suppose their shape is a little reminiscent of a doctors bag, but again with the likes of Doctor Dino, which just relaunched last week and is a different shape to this, it would maybe be confusing. I was going to title it "flap bags" but it sounded rude! They are the B107 if you're into style numbers (don't care for numbers myself). Remember when I first started these posts, I'd said I'd photographed groups of bags together previously, but by the time it came to editing them, they were outdated as I'd added more to my collection? Well these bags, were one of the culprits. Back in March 2019, I photographed all 5 of my collection (eh, oopsy) and the photos you're seeing today are as of October 2020 (I haven't added any since, phew). I can't think of another shape I have more than 12 of, so I reckon this is my biggest collection, but there are other colours out there, don't consider this the complete set.

Irregular Choice Collection: House Bags
Post does not contain affiliate links or any PR gifted items.
I'm back with the next instalment of my Irregular Choice bag collection series. I call these the 'house' bags, but you might also see them referred to as lunchbox bags, a name given to similarly shaped earlier styles. It wasn't really until the house variation launched that I took notice and then when the gingerbread house came out, I had to have it. I thought I wouldn't get much use out of a very festive themed bag, but you know what? It's one of my most used bags overall and definitely the most used of this shape. I bring it out every year and it always gets lots of compliments.

Irregular Choice x Care Bears: Hug It Out Clutch
Post contains no affiliate links or PR items.

My sister has a lot of these Irregular Choice clutch bags, but I ordered this on launch day unsure of whether I wanted to keep it for myself or not! I realised when it arrived that as much as I loved it, it was more her than me, so she got it.

Irregular Choice: Maleficent Bag (Disney Princesses)
Post contains no affiliate links or PR items.

Just a quick post tonight of something I bought back in early Spring. I'd had my eye on this Irregular Choice Maleficent bag since the preview, prior to the launch of the Sleeping Beauty collection in the Disney Princesses series last year. Shape wise though, it's really not practical for me, so I didn't get it. Fast forward to March and it was ridiculously cheap on eBay, so I couldn't resist! I posted it on my Instagram Stories at the time and I'll say what I said there, this will be a display piece for me. It's not often (if ever?) I buy something that I don't intend to wear/use. For the past few months anyway, she keeps guard in the spare room (where I spend all my time) on top of this shelving unit that is housing some of my IC bags. Obviously she has to go on the top shelf because of her shape. She's always catching my eye throughout the day.

Irregular Choice: SS20 Sale Bags
Post contains no affiliate links or PR items.

I've had a good few weeks of ticking some Spring/Summer 2020 handbags off my Irregular Choice wishlist. I've been overspending the past couple of years, so I'm trying to change my buying habits this year and not dive in the moment I see something and wait it out until sale time (unless it's very special/limited). Of course there's the risk it sells out, so it's stressful and doesn't always work, but I am trying!

Irregular Choice Collection: Pouches
Hello, I hope you're all well just now. The weeks have been flying by lately and I've not been very productive, but I hadn't realised my last bag collection post was in January. I do recall not having photos ready, so took these in March/April, but it's taken me a while to feel up to tackling them. I'm not sure which style to work on next, there's a fair few bags on my wishlist this season (understatement) that I haven't gotten yet, so I don't want to take photos before I'm sure my collection won't be updated again! There's a surprising amount of photos in this post (just under 50) considering I don't actually have loads of this style, so I'll try and keep the words to a minimum (but it's me, so you know I struggle with that)!

Irregular Choice Collection: Round Bags
Last year I kicked off my Irregular Choice handbag collection posts with my square shaped bags. Today it's the round ones, which again there aren't masses of, so it's a little easier for me to tackle, as I know exactly how many I have and where they are situated. I've been leaving the ones with the flap and also the double clasp, because every single time I photograph them, another one comes out. I think I've photographed both groups at least twice each over the years, before giving up last year as I knew there was a Jasmine (flap) one coming in Aladdin and then Belle (clasp) in the Beauty And The Beast collection (didn't know about the poodle one which I also got). Anyway, round bags, drum bags, vanity case, whatever you call this shape, it's one of the oldest bag styles from IC. I don't have any of the older ones, but I remember being so excited when they brought this shape back with the furry frog one, because it's a style I'd always hoped to get.
Granted it's not the most practical shaped handbag, being round and it's hard so there's no squeezing anything extra in-the size you see is what you get. As it's very stiff, it doesn't lose it's shape though, even with something heavy inside. Most of them come with a short fixed handle which goes from front to back, rather than side to side. It's great as it doesn't interfere with the zip and allows that picture front to be shown when carrying. They tend to also come with an adjustable longer strap, fastening at either side of the bag (not the top), but more recently they've been attaching back loops, so the strap can be threaded through and used as a backpack. They open with a double zip, close to the front so it opens like a lid and there's gussets at the lower sides inside. I find the flap opens quite wide actually, so access is easy and then the gussets prevent anything falling out. It definitely opens wider than the square bags last time. I have noted some of my zips whizz around easier than others though! A lot of my collection are Disney ones, as you'll see and they're all very different to each other actually when I see them altogether like this. I haven't thought about favourites within this style before...I am very, very fond of the frog and the Snow White one, it's beautiful and is slightly different which I'll get onto later.

Irregular Choice Collection: Square Bags
I've been in the process of doing collective Irregular Choice bag posts for ages now. Honestly I have folders of photos from years ago and every time I take a group shot, I either forget to include something or buy a new one, so feel I need an updated photo and months later I do that and the same happens again! I've finally found the energy to compile this post and I'm starting with an easy one, as this is a newer bag shape, so I don't have that many of them. I'm calling this the 'square bag', it's ever so slightly off being a square (maybe 1cm taller than wide) measuring around 24cm and it's 10.5cm deep.
So the thing with this bag shape is, the front is one big, uninterrupted, clean space which allows a really decent sized image or applique to be the focal point without any flaps, fastenings or oddly shaped bits getting in the way. That also means that inside, you can fill that whole space, there's nothing encroaching on the storage of these ones and I really like the size. As with most IC bags, they come with a short fixed handle on top (my preference) and a longer strap is included which can be attached to D-rings either side of this. The only negative is I find the opening fiddly. The zip unzips maybe 3/4 of the bag, but the flap then doesn't open very widely. I feel I'd like a gusset at the sides, not only to stop contents falling out, but to have that extra pull so it's easier to get my hand in. I'd also prefer a double zip pull than just the one (the round bags tend to have gussets and a double zipper), that's just a minor gripe though. For that reason it isn't my most favourite shape, but I like it enough that I've bought most of the variations it's come in and I have to say every colour or theme I've bought, I really love, they are gorgeous.

Irregular Choice Disney Princesses: Teaser Snow White
After the teaser of the beautiful Be True To Who You Are Mulan boots last week, I have an even bigger reveal this time for the Irregular Choice Disney Princesses collection. We already know there will be six princesses overall, however I can tell you two will launch on 26th July and alongside Mulan, we're going way back to the original princess from 1937, beautiful Snow White. Like Mulan, this collection will feature both adult and kids styles along with bags/accessories. I have four styles to get through today, so let's get started.

Irregular Choice Muppets: Daredevil Bag

I feel like this post should begin with some sort of trumpet fanfare. Presenting "Gonzo The Great"; eccentric, performer, stunt-master extraordinaire! My first Irregular Choice Muppets bag review is my favourite of the bunch, Daredevil, featuring (if you haven't already guessed), Gonzo. Just what he is, nobody quite knows! I said this in my first impressions post, but I'm so fond of this bag shape. It's the perfect size for me and what I need it for and is a lot roomier than it seems from the outside. So let's take a closer look.

Irregular Choice Muppets: Haul First Impressions

Though it was very tiring and physically demanding, I had great fun last weekend photographing my entire Irregular Choice Muppets haul. It was like Christmas last Monday when it all arrived. One fabulous box of goodies after another. I was so excited to get stuck in and review it all, then something happened this week which was about to derail the whole thing and I thought it was going to be put on hold for a month. However that crisis is (hopefully) averted and I can get back to doing the stuff I want to do! I'm so excited for you to see it all, because the shoots worked exactly how I hoped and the actual items are just a dream to look at anyway. I thought in the meantime I'd put together a first impressions with photos I took whenever they arrived. I was going to chat about the launch and how I got on buying, but I felt I was blethering and minus a little glitch or two, it actually went well for me, so let's leave it at that and get onto the beautiful stuff!

Irregular Choice: Disney Muppets Preview 1

After the announcement last week, I'm delighted to share with you a sneak peek of the newest Irregular Choice Disney collaboration, The Muppets! We've been told to expect "glamorous shoes and fabulous bags featuring the one and only Miss Piggy, the world’s most famous frog Kermit, The Great Gonzo, Animal and other much loved characters". I'm struggling to contain my excitement to be honest, it's such a terrific pairing between the two brands and we definitely should expect wonderful things. Starting with drumming extraordinaire, Animal.

Danielle Nicole: Disney Bag Collection

A few months ago, I shared my collection of Danielle Nicole Disney bags and I have a couple more to show you today. To begin with, they were an exclusive to QVC in the UK, but now several other retailers stock the brand, so they are even easier to get your hands on here. I've updated the links in that original post to show the newer retailers.

Irregular Choice Disney: Chip n Dale Bag
Hello, I finally made it to the last of my Irregular Choice Mickey & Friends reviews! It wouldn't usually take me this long to get through everything, but as I've said before, it was really unfortunate that my gallbladder surgery coincided with this release and put me out of action for a little while. Though I'm extremely happy that it happened as quickly as it did and it's all over now! I bought another Disney bag a couple of weeks ago, which I haven't had time to photograph and for once, my sister got a pair of shoes from this collection too, so the Disney reviews aren't totally over yet. I have quite a few other IC things that have sneaked their way in over the past couple of months, so there's all that to follow.

Irregular Choice Disney: Whoa Bag
Following on from Oh My last week, I have the second of my Irregular Choice Disney Mickey & Friends bag reviews, Whoa. Now, we saw this one in the previews before the release and I hinted then, that it was one I wanted to buy. I managed to find this along with the Chip n Dale purse, as both of those items were selling very quickly from the retailers I saw stocking them. I actually recall having the bag in my basket on three other sites while searching for other items and being in a bit of a panic once all of them sold out. Thankfully I found an undiscovered source (at that point) and didn't hesitate when I saw they were stocking the purse too.

Irregular Choice Disney: Oh My Bag
In the fourth Irregular Choice Mickey & Friends review, I have the first of my handbags. I mentioned to you in previous posts that it was the bags I was eager to get and I ended up buying three (and have a 4th on the way, but I'm not sure I'm keeping that yet). This was the first Disney collection to have bags and accessories alongside footwear, so that was a big deal. Especially as so many of us had thought for Star Wars, Alice or Cinderella "wouldn't it be cool IF..." and here we are! I didn't necessarily try to match the bags I bought to the shoes, I just got the ones I liked most and it was a bonus that a couple go really well with the 2 pairs of shoes I have from this collection. Generally (and because the collection was so big), there were several shoe styles that could be 'matched' up to each bag. The darker coloured ones, tended to have more 'matches' than the others. All of the handbag styles are based on shapes we've seen in the mainline collection over the years, which I see no problem with. My IC bag collection started off quite tentatively, but now I own a lot and have several shapes that I like so much, I'm keen to buy in new variations each season. All of the Mickey bags seem to have sold really quickly everywhere, so I think they've been popular choices.

Danielle Nicole: Disney Handbags
If you follow my Instagram, you'll probably be aware I began collecting Danielle Nicole x Disney handbags last year, when they first launched in the UK. As well as making 'regular' bags, accessories and jewellery, Danielle has the most wonderful (officially licensed) Disney range. You know I'm a long time fan of the novelty handbag and they don't get much more fun than these. Princess heads (my favourite) or other Disney characters adorn these cute bags and I've built up quite the collection already, so thought I'd share them with you.
