Irregular Choice Sanrio Haul: First Impressions

Image
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items. Irregular Choice launched a big release last week, a collaboration with Sanrio , featuring Hello Kitty (HK), My Melody (MM), Little Twin Stars (LTS) and Gudetama. I really wanted the MM boots, but was unsure of sizing, so ordered two pairs and knowing I had one of those to return anyway, I got a bit carried away and ordered quite a lot. Mostly bags, they were good in this collection! My order arrived a few days ago and I've quickly photographed each thing, just to give a brief overview of what I thought. I know it's been a long time since I've written my detailed haul reviews...I have nowhere to photograph that type of thing upstairs and I just don't think I have the energy for those kinds of posts now, which is unfortunate. Anyway here's my thoughts, starting with those MM boots.

40th Birthday Shoes: Vetements Eiffel Tower Heels

Image
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifts. I told you these shoes were going to be a little different! These are the 3rd of the four 40th birthday pairs I treated myself to throughout last year. You can find my last post here .  Unlike the others, these hadn't been something I'd long had my eye on, but when the opportunity arose (at about 85% off), I jumped on it.

40th Birthday Shoes: Sophia Webster Nicole

Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifts. Last time I spoke about the first of the four 40th birthday shoes I bought myself last year and I mentioned that I changed my mind on the third pair, which I'm showing you today.  You can find my second purchase in this blog post .

40th Birthday Shoes: Midnight 00

Image
Post does not contain affiliate links and PR items. You may remember my post last year regarding my birthday shoe buying tradition and how because it was my 40th, I upped my usual treat to 4 pairs. I tried to buy one each quarter, not only to spread the cost, but it was exciting to have something to look forward to each season. The Dolce & Gabbana mules I showed you last time were my replacement second pair, after my initial choice ( Kat Maconie 'Aya' ) had to be returned because I couldn't get my foot into them. Today I finally have the first pair to show you. I didn't actually take 'proper' pics at the time (i.e. intended for blogging), so I've just scrambled together some photos I have. They're not great and a bit jumbled (taken on two different days) but I just wanted to get them up rather than continuing not in the order I bought them.  I'll get round to doing a proper fit review on The Shoe Girl Diaries at some point with better p...

Irregular Choice Advent Adventures: Days 21 - 24

Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifts. Today I have the final images from the Irregular Choice Advent Adventures boots.  You can view previous posts here .  This lot contained Svetlana, the matryoshka doll that has featured across many styles and several seasons, alongside the SS13 cowgirl.

Irregular Choice Advent Adventures: Days 11 - 15

Image
Post does not contain PR gifted items or affiliate links. Hello my lovelies, I have the next 5 advent pictures for you from the Irregular Choice Advent Adventure boots.  You can view the last lot here if you missed it.  This time the images took us across both boots, with Day 13 starting on the left foot.  I have to say I'm really enjoying the ease of finding numbers and them not being muddled up!  After years of different beauty calendars, I know what works and doesn't (a mix of digits and named numbers is particularly taxing on my brain).

Shoes I've Worn In 2020

Image
Post does not contain any PR gifted items and includes one affiliate link. 2020 for me started off pretty rough.  I'm not intentionally being vague about why, it's just that's not what this post is about.  In a bid to ease what was going on, Mum took me out a lot more than is usual for me.  It was clearly excellent foresight, given what was coming in Spring!  Since the pandemic hit, Mum and Dad don't go out much, my sister has to work and I haven't left the house at all since March.  Most people think that's too unbelievable to be true, but it is.  I'm accustomed to not getting out much, so in all honesty, it's not been too hard or different to my usual life.  I'm not saying it's easy, but after 18 years of it, you adapt to continually missing out.  Anyway, I thought I'd share the shoes I have worn so far this year, actually mostly boots as I was in a right phase in January/February.

40th Birthday Shoes: Dolce & Gabbana

Image
Post contains affiliate link and no PR items. You might remember my post last year about my new-ish tradition of buying myself a pair of designer shoes for my birthday.  That and watching the Korean zombie film, Train To Busan (on my own because nobody else in my house would like it)!  Last year I bought the Charlotte Olympia t-bars and the previous year, Vivienne Westwood suede boots.  This year I turned 40, so I decided (pre-Covid) that such a milestone called for a mega treat of 4 pairs throughout the year, one for each quarter of the year (not so minted that I could buy them all at once!) and four seemed apt (and more manageable/sensible than 40!) to represent 40.  A lot of my friends had lavish holidays (multiple) planned throughout the year to celebrate their birthdays, which isn't something I could do with being ill and as a family we were struggling to find something I could manage to celebrate, so we had no plans before Coronavirus hit.  I figured ...

Irregular Choice: Paint A Friend (unicorn heels)

Image
No affiliate links and no gifted items in this post.  I thought I'd write a quick post on my new shoes that arrived on Monday (you get no blogs for weeks, then loads at once)! Irregular Choice surprised us all with the latest in their "paint your own heels" collection last Tuesday. Earlier in the year I'd bought the bunny heeled Paint A Flopsy , which I know how I want to decorate, but haven't mustered up the courage to do so yet (not really sure I have decent paint to be honest). The new release is the unicorn heel called Paint A Friend (after Eternal Friend). I was having a bit of a stressy day when these were released and for once wasn't online, so I almost missed them, but thanks to Tomi, got them in time! They sold out in every size about 10 or 15 minutes after I bought mine, so I was dreading getting an 'order can't be fulfilled' email, but thankfully they are here.

Irregular Choice Lightning Bolt: Galactic Thunder (IC Exclusive)

Image
Post does not contain affiliate links or gifted items. Onto the second of my lightning bolt heels and these, Galactic Thunder , were another Irregular Choice exclusive colour. They also came in a bright, multi colour or a darker combination, but I was drawn to the pink leopard print.

Irregular Choice: Luxovious (Super Fan Collection)

Image
Post does not contain affiliate links or gifted items. Probably shouldn't begin a post with a negative, but I'm not entirely happy with these photos. You'll see a couple of different backdrops; I started with this planet one, but the colour and material of the boots wasn't shining like it usually does, so I switched to the other background, but it didn't improve much. I was photographing a lot of items this day, so didn't have the time to try again and as always my energy is low, so I just have to do what I can and I'd rather review them than not at all. The close-up photos are alright and I'll go into detail about the material anyway and am including an extra photo at the end so you can see them in all their glory.  I'm more disappointed that I haven't done the material justice because it and the boots are better than they look here.

Irregular Choice Lightning Bolt: Heavens Above (IC Exclusive)

Hello, been a little longer between posts than I'd have liked, but I had to buy a new laptop as my other one was dying and other than the backlit keyboard (!), I hate the new one. Everything is different and I'm exhausted trying to figure out how to work it (if I could murder the "help" section, I would, it's that frustrating). It's draining my energy too much and not doing anything for my mood, so I've just been avoiding using it altogether.  The biggest issue being the colours I'm seeing on screen, which is making blogging near impossible, as I don't know what to trust in regards to being a lifelike colour. I realise it can very between devices (my phone always looks way more saturated than my old laptop), but this is worlds apart and I can't seem to fix it. There's been tears more than once, but I just decided to bite the bullet and go for it with these photos I took at the weekend and fingers crossed, it works. I resized them and ...

Irregular Choice Disney Princesses: Beauty & The Beast Teaser

Image
Today we meet the 6th and final princess in the Irregular Choice Disney Princesses line, Belle from Beauty & The Beast! Did you spy Lumiere and the rose on the packaging? Belle will be launching alongside Ariel this Friday, so let's take a look at the final teaser.  Another big reveal today, with a brand new character heel.

Irregular Choice Disney Princesses: The Little Mermaid Teaser 2

Image
Last week Irregular Choice announced their 5th in the Disney Princesses line as Ariel and I have more (amazing) teasers for you this week. Once IC were a few Disney collections in, I started to think of what I'd most like to see. The Little Mermaid topped my list as that's my favourite film and my vision was for a water globe heel with Ariel sitting inside (that scene on the rock right before Sebastian launches into Under The Sea-I wanted them to play music too!). Last year when the carousel and snow globe heels launched, I got super excited as I realised it was possible to create a wearable globe heel and I hoped and hoped for an Ariel release and here she is and the heel is almost exactly as I imagined (sadly no song)! Just Me & The Sea are a brand new character heel, similar to those I just mentioned with the large wedge containing liquid and multi-coloured flecks.

Irregular Choice Disney Princesses: The Little Mermaid Teaser

It's here, time to meet the 5th Disney Princess ! Irregular Choice told us months ago that we would be visiting 6 princesses before the end of the year.  So far we've had collections from Snow White and Mulan, then Jasmine from Aladdin and Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and now it's time to go under the sea, for my favourite, Ariel from The Little Mermaid . I was so, so excited when I realised she was going to be included in this series and today I have the first teaser, which isn't quite Ariel... We're starting with the villain of the story, Ursula. I think this will please those that were seeking a more villainous theme, but weren't satisfied with the 'sharing' in most items from the last collection (Maleficent with Sleeping Beauty). Here's Ursula all on her own in the Elegant Evil shoe.

Irregular Choice Disney Princesses: Sleeping Beauty Teaser

More news regarding the Disney Princess release at Irregular Choice  this week. Princess Aurora aka Sleeping Beauty, will also be launching alongside Jasmine from Aladdin! Today I have a couple of sneak peeks from that collection, but as with all the ranges, expect a variety of heel heights, bags, accessories and some kids styles too. Dreamer Vs. Evil are something a little different from previous Disney releases. This wedge heeled bootie isn't a classic or common style and although the shape itself isn't exciting me too much, those gorgeous uppers are. There's a tremendous amount of detail in these. The right and left shoes are slightly different, though both feature this pastel rainbow upper in a glitter finish. "Sleeping" is embroidered across a banner on one foot, with "Beauty" on the other.

Irregular Choice Disney Princesses: Aladdin Teaser 2

Image
Greetings my friends! I'm back with another teaser from the Irregular Choice Disney Princesses line and it's...another Aladdin sneak peek! I feel that may be a surprise to some. So last week we saw matching Aladdin and Jasmine mid heels and bag , this time it's the turn of the Genie. I'll be honest, I'm a bit muddled by this. On the one hand, I realise the Genie is a super popular figure in the film (and big part of it), ergo people are going to want a piece of him. However remember this isn't a general Aladdin collection, it's Disney Princesses, therefore the focus, in my opinion, should be on the female lead, Jasmine. We were told from the start that villains, friends etc could be included and really who is Snow White without the Seven Dwarfs? However Jasmine and the Genie have very little interaction from what I remember (it's a while since I've watched it), he's more Aladdin's sidekick, no? Regardless, I'm sure these pieces...

Today I bring you news of the next Irregular Choice Disney Princess release. In the original announcement, it was revealed there would be 6 Princesses throughout the rest of the year, with Mulan and Snow White already dropping in July. Today I can tell you, Jasmine from Aladdin is coming next! Did you see Abu and the magic lamp in the box clues? What I love about Jasmine and the whole movie really, is the rich, jewel colours and the first teaser doesn't disappoint in that department. The A Whole New World Bag features a beautifully lit twilight scene in pinks, purples and yellow.
