Pamper Time

I've been feeling a little rundown this past wee while, so decided I needed some pampering today. I did a vitamin C facial microdermabrasion peel using Philosophy The Microdelivery Peel. First you apply the scrummy smelling vitamin C/peptide crystals scrub (resisting the temptation to eat it!), then on top, the lactic/salicylic acid activator gel which warms upon application. This is the most intense scrub I've ever used and I'm a huge fan of exfoliation, the results are probably quadruple the feeling of a salon facial-I'm not kidding. While it did it's thing, I slathered my body in Soap & Glory's The Daily Smooth body butter which is filled with cocoa butter and rosehip seed oil goodness! After rinsing off the scrub, my face feels amazingly soft, smooth and looks clear, brighter and glowy. I've never felt skin as soft as this! I finished with Lancome Hydra Zen Neurocalm soothing anti-stress moisturising cream which I'm currently using. Tonight is manicure and pedicure time!

  1. I've always wanted to try a microdermabrasion peel but I wasn't sure if there would be any sensitivity or redness after using it. also, do you think it would work to clear up old spot marks and do you recommend it? :) thanks xx

  2. I've never stuck to using it regularly, so I can't really comment on it's effectiveness on clearing up marks. I have suffered acne prone skin, so now that my skin is recoverng I'm thinking of using this more regularly.

I prefer to not wear any makeup after application (you could do it in the evening and leave it overnight), because my face was quite shiny and a teeny bit sensitive, but I didn't experience any redness. Today my skin still feels really soft and smooth but there's no sensitivity.

The scrub is very abrasive, so if you don't like something really grainy I wouldn't recommend trying this. Personally I like a scrub to feel like it's really scrubbing (even although you are to apply this as gently as possible). This is without a doubt the best microdermabrasion I've ever used, I really would recommend it.

  3. ahh thank you very much :) I have loads of little lumps and just generally feel my skin could do with resurfacing. I'm on study leave at the moment so even if it is sensitive, I won't have to leave the house so it's alright, can give my face a rest from makeup :) Thank you for your help. Also, how much did this cost you? and did you buy it from their website? cause it looks as though it's in dollars, or am I just being a bit stupid? lol xx

  4. Hi, I can't remember how much I paid for this...I bought it as part of a set from QVC. I used to frequently purchase Philosophy sets when they did these special deals, because I really liked the Hope In A Jar moisturiser. Unfortunately once my skin flared up, I had to stop using it-so I haven't bought anything from them recently. You can buy Philosophy online from HQHair and John Lewis too. Hope this helps and please let me know how you get on with it, if you decide to purchase.
