Irregular Choice Unicorn & Bunny Handbags
As promised, here is the second part of my Irregular Choice order, the handbags! I took more photos than I thought, so it took a while to sort through them! You can click here to see my dinosaur heels in all their glory here if you missed them. I'll start with Magic Bunny £85. I said in that other post that I hadn't expected this release (after forgetting the rumour of bunny bags to match the shoes), but I'm delighted that a season later they released a bag to match my Fluffy Tail, golden bunny heels. I'll start with the bag on it's own, then follow with the awesomeness that is matchiness!
Made exactly like the shoes, the bag is covered in tiny flat, pink sequins with a polka dot pattern in iridescent white. The bag is the same style as my previous Magic Pony ones (blue here and floral here) with the animals facing each other and also the same shape as my L'il Lamb, Deery Me etc. Random, but have I not shown you my Deery Me bags? The original one I'm sure I only have a photo that I put up on Tumblr, but I honestly thought I'd done a post on the one that matched my Cherry Deer fawn heels, but can't find it anywhere. Ok, if I haven't, I'll search through my photos, because I'm 99% certain I've already photographed them. Anyway, they are all the same style of bag; gold frame top, wide base, big 'knob' clasp closure and an adjustable, detachable strap. Don't mistake these bags for small clutches, they are far more roomy than they look online.
Unlike the unicorns, you get the full bunny (head and body) on the bag, in crackled gold metallic with embroidered eyes in blue and black mouth, ears and nose. Each has a pale pink satin bow and white, fluffy tail in the corners of the bag, to mirror the fluffy tails on the shoes.
The sequins pattern is over the entire bag, front, back, sides and base. There's no studs on the base this time, presumably because they would be difficult to fix into this fabric, I'm not sure. Inside is the floral velvet fabric from this season, so they don't totally match my shoes (as they had last seasons quilted wine velvet). Though I doubt anyone is going to pull you up on your linings not matching! I don't usually do this, but I've roughly measured the bags in this post, so you know exactly how big they are. At the widest this is 35cm x 21cm x 16cm, but remember it tapers and curves inwards towards the top.
When I photographed these shoes the other week for Shoesday Tuesday, I found most of my images were blurry and had to be scrapped. The combination of sparkling sequins and circular print, my camera doesn't like! So I definitely think the bag looks even better in the flesh. Now for stuff that makes me happy, matching! Whoop, whoop!
I can't say I've ever felt the need for a pink sequins handbag (or shoes for that matter), but they will be eternally happy together with their fluffy bums. Now, meet King Of The Castle (always makes me think of that Wamdue Project song from the nineties which my mate and I dubbed "Queens" of our castle instead)! This is a brand new style of bag for me. I'm not a 'big bag' person usually, so I was worried this style would be too large for me, but it's actually rather neat.
The main fabric, I'm not a massive fan of (probably because I'm not that into neon), but you can see very little of it on the front, which is dominated by that mystical unicorn.
Just look at how freakin' pretty it is!
It's made from smooth holographic material, which really sparkles in the light. It's mane has three shades of chunky glitter; turquoise, pink and blue.
In the background you have a cute, pink castle and there's just so many different fabrics and trims used in this bag. Eagle eyes might spot that metallic snakeskin piping, the same fabric as my lamb shoes. I'm convinced this is yet another sign that I have to get Fancy This Party People in the same fabric!
The same fabric is used on the strap with the neon slub on the other side and again, it's adjustable and detachable. The bag comes with two fixed shimmering, pink handles or this longer strap attaches at the sides. I love the glitter hearts at the base of the handles and I love even more that they used smoother, metallic ones for the back, so the glitter wouldn't fall off and snag clothing by rubbing.
Despite looking like other IC bags (Cat Call, Long Legs or Wing And A Prayer), this one actually has three 'main' compartments. The bag opens with a magnetic stud, but off of this is a zipped section (the full size of the bag) in the front and back. Each of those sections has inner pockets (one, pouches for mobile phones etc and the other a small zipped pocket). I like this idea of being able to throw stuff in the central bit, but keep valuables zipped up in the front or back.
I've taken some photos of this beside the bunny one for comparison. Though you may be surprised to hear that the unicorn measures 33cm x 30 cm x 17cm. So, it's obviously taller, but actually pretty much the same in width and depth. The unicorn looks much wider in my photo, but my tape measure does not lie! Though I feel because this one is softer and there's no clasp closure, you can pile more in and you have to remember the other one tapers in, but this doesn't. Aren't they both just lovely?

DeleteI LOVE the unicorn bag, although the bunny one is gorgeous too. Needful things! x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous aren't they? x
DeleteI'm lucky enough to have both the Fluffy Tail & matching bag in pink. But to be greedy, I'm looking for the Multi-coloured sequin Magic Bunny bag to go with my rainbow Disco Bunny heels. My ultimate ISO!
ReplyDeleteThat was so hard to get wasn't it? The shoes were Schuh exclusive, but then the bag never really came out here (I remember seeing it on a German site). A lot of people would wish they'd released it here I think.
