Day 3 #BeRealMarch

So this is how I wear my hair sometimes. I started when I was growing my fringe out (such a bore) and it kept all the little straggly bits out of the way and didn't look like I was...growing my fringe out!  I had to play around with them and start the pigtails high on my head because my hair was so short (and did separate little ones at the front for my fringe, then integrated them into the main ones).  Now that my hair is getting longer, it's a lot easier and two pigtails are sufficient to gather up all my hair.  There's a period when my sister and I were younger, when we were growing our fringes and there's so many photos of that time with clasps holding back wee tufts of hair or big puffy hairbands. You just look at them and go "ahh so we were getting rid of the fringes then?" So obvious!  Men will never understand the pain of going through such a thing!

Not sure this style is particularly 'flattering' on me, but then that's half the point of why I'm doing these posts isn't it? As you can see, there's still some flickers of pink left and dirty white, but my natural colour has come through a lot in the past year. It's true what they say about forgetting your hair colour when you've dyed it for so long. It's much darker than I ever remembered and I always think it looks most unnatural on me (I think because I spent so many years as a blonde)! Thanks for all the support so far, I knew you'd be awesome about these posts, but hadn't realised how awesome, so thank you.  See you tomorrow x

  1. I've come across to your blog from Kezzie's lovely post about you and I love your blog! These posts are an amazing idea too, and I think you look lovely. I love the way the braid looks and I've gone through that exact feeling of having to grow out hair and fringe's again - I always get these frizzy, wispy bits that like to do their own thing, haha! Great post - Tasha

    1. Haha, you make me laugh. I wish I could type in an accent, but can't, so won't! Yeah I struggled when mine was shoulder length, but you can play around with where you start them and things. It's funny to think mine didn't used to meet at the top and now they overlap!

  3. I really like how you have two different colors! I stopped coloring my hair a while ago and it's true, I've forgotten my "real" color (but then again, it changes according to the weather as my hair gets so much lighter in the summer and I have lighter hair on the top layer). I think it's great what you're doing!

    1. Thank you. Yeah when I was younger (before colouring my hair), it would always get lighter in the sun. Now I'm never outside so I guess that's why it's staying so dark!

  4. I think you look totally cute with your hair like this. Ugh, isn't growing out a fringe THE WORST! I keep getting these urges to cut my fringe and have to stop and remind myself of all the negatives of a fringe.
