I thought you'd be keen to see a side-by-side comparison of both colours of the Irregular Choice panda heels, if you were still debating which to buy. I initially promised this post last week, but I bought another pair, so wanted to combine all three. The majority of photos are of Pin Yin, but I've thrown in some Tian Tian too.
Reading your comments on my original post, I think the thing we all wished for most, was that the beading on the black be multi coloured like it is on the yellow ones. In my opinion it would've 'lifted' the shoe and made it more interesting, especially from behind (as that is the best bit about the yellow). Otherwise, both Pin Yin are exactly the same, just in different colours.
Like I said in my Tian Tian post, they are shaped slightly different to Pin Yin. There's 3 sets of eyelets as opposed to two on PY and TT sit higher up the foot. The edges on TT are scalloped rather than finished with trim, but the general shape and rounded toe are alike. The yellow PY are finished with a white heel tip, the other two are gold. While the edge of the outer sole are painted pale pink on the yellow pair and gold on both black.
Eventually, I came to the decision that I was keeping Tian Tian and returning the other two. My thought process was, that out of both black pairs, I preferred Tian Tian and so between those and the yellow pair, I knew I'd get more wear out of the black. I actually wore them to physio last week and was delighted when I stepped outside to see them looking so colourful. Once in the hospital, they were really twinkling (a lot of pink) and sparkling, so I feel like I made the right decision. I can recall thinking my Chuckles gnome heels weren't very exciting at first, because they were mostly black, but I got so much wear out of them as they just went with everything and they really grew on me. I'm sure the same will happen with these. I do have some on-the-foot shots for Shoesday Tuesday today of Tian Tian, but still have the black Pin Yin to show you (you can see the yellow pair here from last week).
You can find the black Tian Tian here, black Pin Yin (sizes 36-40 in stock) and yellow Pin Yin (sizes 36-41) or the styles not shown here (that I haven't tried), black Yang Guang (4-8) or purple Yang Guang (38, 40-43). My black Pin Yin are a size 5/38 and were too small, but the other two in a size up (6/39) fitted perfectly, so I'd recommend buying larger if you can. There's been a little delay with my dinosaur heels being sent out, but they'll hopefully be arriving tomorrow! So look out for that post coming soon. Which panda were your favourite?

I was kind of disappointed with this collection (not that I cold afford to buy in anyway!) in that I didn't like any of the tops of the shoes :( The ones I liked the most are the black with white stripes but they'e still a little.. eh. I wish I'd grabbed a pair of the fawn ones whilst they were available! xx
ReplyDeleteSo was I. I just felt the uppers didn't do the heel justice. I do like my Tian Tian and will wear them a lot, but they're not my favourite of the character heels.
