Happy New Year!

May 2011 be filled with happiness, health, sparkles and style.
Cherish your family, laugh with friends until your tummy hurts,
sing and dance until your heart is content.
Believe this is 'your' year and aim for the top.
May your dreams become reality and your wishes come true.
There's nothing you can't achieve!
Smile and someone will smile with you, aim to bring joy to at least one person every day.
Surround yourself with positive people and things that make you happy.
Rid yourself of those that bring you down.
Wear that expensive perfume or lipstick you've been 'saving',
dress in glitter, florals and frills any day and every day.
The streets are your catwalk, your life is the movie,
make each day worth watching!

Happy New Year everyone! That little piece just came to me, off the cuff and I just went with it. I know it's easy to start the year off well, we all have such good intentions, but somehow after a few weeks you are brought back down to earth with a thud. I feel so blessed and thankful for what I have and I am well aware that it is more than some. I sincerely wish I could wave a magic wand and cure everybody in pain, bring love to every lonely child and peace to the world, but unfortunately that is beyond me or any one person. 2010 or even the past 8 and a half years, haven't been the best for me though and I hope that can change this year. I had no concept of how much 'good health' and 'fresh air' and the ability to be 'free' actually meant to me until I no longer had them. It's been a long struggle, but I have to believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I'm a firm devotee in the 'life is too short' theory, but regrettably, it's not something I've been able to practice for years. I don't have a crystal ball and I can't see into the future or know that I will get better, but if I don't have faith in that...I have nothing and so I remain hopeful. I always was a dreamer! I'm sure one day, I'll be able to look back on these difficult years and take many positives from it (I am already), even although at times (now) it can feel like life is passing me by. Life isn't easy for anyone and we all have to go through something to help us appreciate it more. I hope you can find strength and we can all move on and find our own paradise.
Who knows if this blog would exist if I hadn't found myself in this situation. I truly feel honoured that so many of you take the time each day to visit my blogs and leave comments or email me. I honestly appreciate every single comment and only wish I had more time to visit your blogs so regularly and do the same. It's taken a long time for Pink Haired Princess and The Shoe Girl Diaries to really get into their stride-I can remember the days when I felt (and probably was) speaking to myself! For 2011, I want to write more freely on PHP, sometimes I can feel 'bogged down' by posts I 'have' to make as the blogging world of beauty and fashion moves so ridiculously fast. I'm not quite sure which turn the blog will take, but I hope you all find something unique or interesting that brings you back time and time again. The photo taken above was made in my new little studio I got for Christmas (oooh!), perfect for blogging! I'm not the most professional photographer in the world, but perhaps my new equipment will help! I'm hoping to add to my video page on YouTube-maybe even with me actually 'talking' (freaking out slightly about that, but really want to do it). I have so many ideas, I just need the time to fulfill them. I hope this is something you will look forward to.

For The Shoe Girl Diaries, I feel terrible that's it's been neglected so often during 2010. The logistics of it are just so difficult to maintain during bad weather and with my health. Perhaps I aimed too high in being able to continue such a challenge day after day, but I don't regret that and I'm still hopeful of a more regular routine for 2011. I'm always thinking about the blog, even although I've only worn shoes maybe 3 or 4 times in 2 months! I can still remember each outfit and intend on documenting them as soon as. It remains a great concept that has been adapted and adopted by many a fashion blogger, which I think is fantastic. Shoes are and always will be my absolute true love and desire. If shoes could talk, I have several new pairs that would be begging to make an entrance on TSGD this year, so I think I should listen!

  1. Happy New Year girl! I hope you'll find lots of pleasure in continuing with your blogging and that your health gets better and better in 2011!
I've really enjoyed getting to know you a little through your blog & facebook! I treasure our internet-friendship as most of the people around me aren't obsessed with clothes and shoes lol so I really enjoy sending you messages about what I've brought, and then reading about your most resent hauls!
So I hope to continue on the same foot, and that there will be lots of nice clothes, shoes and make-up for us in the new year! x

  2. Marlein, thanks for that message. I absolutely feel the same way. It's great that we can know each other so well, without ever meeting. I really enjoy our little chats! : )
