40th Birthday Shoes: Sophia Webster Nicole

Last time I spoke about the first of the four 40th birthday shoes I bought myself last year and I mentioned that I changed my mind on the third pair, which I'm showing you today.  You can find my second purchase in this blog post.
Sophia Webster branded box
I bought these towards the end of summer after ogling them for soooo long. They are the Nicole by Sophia Webster. I absolutely love this version of the Nicole, with marabou feather trim and that gorgeous hourglass heel shape; I'm not nearly as enamoured with the straight stiletto heeled, strappy sandal version. I was also really loving them in the new season dalmatian print. I love my animal prints, but dalmatian is always an unusual one.

I'm not normally a fan of neon, but the flashes of it here I think are striking against the white and black print. The feathers are lime and the ankle strap is pink with a lime buckle.

I seriously think they are gorgeous and spent months wanting them, but after trying them on, I just felt like I couldn't see myself wearing them very often. I didn't want to buy a pair solely for display purposes, I want to be able to wear them (when/if I ever get out).  For once I'm thinking practically and I just can't see them being well used by me.  I'm quite sad about it because of how long I spent wanting them and how much I still love them to look at, but if I'm not going to wear them, it isn't worth keeping them.

The textured leather is lovely and I appreciate the ankle strap overlapping the back of the sandal, so they don't rub at all. This colourway was exclusive to the SW website and boutique if I remember correctly. I also liked the contrast between these and the other styles I'd bought for my 40th; instead I've doubled up on a brand and bought two black pairs.  No big deal, but I liked the very seasonal inspired approach I started off with!  Next time I'll show you what I replaced these with, kind of unusual for me, it's a boot and the plainest one I own at that!

    1. I'm still sad about them because they're beautiful, but I know I won't get much wear out of them (well I don't wear any shoes just now, but hopefully one day).

  2. Do you still have them and considering selling them? I'm after them few years now! 🙂
