Dreamer Vs. Evil are something a little different from previous Disney releases. This wedge heeled bootie isn't a classic or common style and although the shape itself isn't exciting me too much, those gorgeous uppers are. There's a tremendous amount of detail in these. The right and left shoes are slightly different, though both feature this pastel rainbow upper in a glitter finish. "Sleeping" is embroidered across a banner on one foot, with "Beauty" on the other.
I'll start with the 'Dreamer' shoe which has an embroidered rainbow from the outer instep around the back of the shoe, finishing at the instep on the inner side. A swirling Aurora in her pink dress graces the outer side in applique. Embroidered clouds sit along the lower portion of the shoe with embroidered roses peeking out and colourful gems are sewn throughout the shoe. The inner side features an applique castle with this wonderful background glitter wrapping all the way around the shoe. It's pink and blue and silver and looks really stunning. As you can see there's a short zip on the inside to help get them on and off.
The 'Evil' shoe features that same glitter but down the outer side you have a sleeping Aurora and a "she's behind you!" menacing Maleficent towering over her. I love that her outfit is black patent, it's such a stark contrast to the rest of the shoe, so really sets that fearful tone. There are layers of green and blue flames which work their way round to the inner side, where again you'll find the zip.
The wedge heel and platform are concealed and around the front toe you'll see an applique crown on both feet, which I think is really unusual. You may have noticed little lights dotted throughout the uppers, which are activated when you walk (there's an on/off switch). I love how the classic fairytale story is told across the two shoes.
Then we have the incredible Maleficent Bag. I know she's a character that many will have been hoping for in this collection. The bag itself is circular with a zip closure and loops on the back to use as a backpack or D-rings on the side to attach the strap to use as a shoulder bag. The back is green metallic with "fall beneath my spell" embroidered in large letters.
The flame detail we saw on the shoes, is also on the sides of the bag, this time with the addition of that beautiful purple glitter with multi-coloured flecks in it.
The front is covered in Maleficent's face, with her horns sitting upwards from the round bag (quite considerably). Again this is shiny black, which adds to the drama. Her expression is just pure disdain, it really is! Her skin is a pearly green metallic with embroidered features and her spiked collar sticks out the side of the bag.
