Irregular Choice: Mickey & Friends Preview 1

As announced last week, Irregular Choice are once more collaborating with Disney for a special, limited edition range featuring Mickey Mouse and friends. I'm delighted to share the first teaser(s) with you and I think you're going to be super excited about this!

I'll address what's likely teasing you most from the photo above, the bag! I think for every previous Disney collection (Star Wars x 2, Alice x 2 and Cinderella), I've heard murmurs of "I wonder if there will be handbags in this range?" or "wouldn't it be cool if these shoes had a matching bag?", well here you have it and I need to find another word rather than 'exciting', but seriously I'm sure you're all thrilled.  
Dreamy Mickey is of course based on the coveted Starry Night cat bag. The Mickey bag is also made from crushed velvet, in black this time, featuring the beautiful holographic, snake effect crescent moon and equally pretty colour-shifting clouds with sporadic, red glitter stars.
The focal point is of course a very cheeky looking Mickey, relaxing on the moon with his famous wide smile. There's so much character in the applique mouse, you can't help but be drawn in, gazing in wonder at the night sky alongside him.
This bag is one of my favourite shapes from Irregular Choice. I've been using my Starry Night one a lot recently and it's roomy without feeling cumbersome. My favourite aspect is the partitions. The large centre section fastens with a stud and is great for throwing bits in when you're out shopping (or I'm convinced this would make a practical but stylish baby changing bag). Then the front and back sections are zipped and there you can house your valuables such as you're phone and purse and keys. There's two fixed handles, which I find long enough to sling on my shoulder or to carry in my hand, but these bags also come with a detachable (and adjustable) longer strap if you so wish.
Expect all the usual beautiful touches of inner pockets, piping, pretty lining and just look at those large blue metallic stars at the base of the handles. Beautiful inside and out.

In black micro-glitter with a small multi-coloured, glitter heel, they feature a Mickey and Minnie head on each toe, gazing inwards at each other. As with the bag, there's lot of personality in their faces and Minnie is even wearing her signature (puffy) red polka dot bow.
As you'd expect the details don't stop there. There's embroidered red hearts surrounding the loved-up couple with, "I love you Mickey" and "I love you Minnie", in gold along the side of the corresponding shoe. It's a lovely touch, as is the metallic, scalloped edging around the top of the shoe.
In our first teaser, we also get a sneaky look at the shoe linings and I can hardly contain myself at how cute this is. The Minnie shoe features a cut-out Mickey shaped head with 'Disney' and hearts embroidered inside, while Mickey's is in the shape of Minnie's bow. So adorable! The lining itself is shimmering gold, just look at that holographic sheen, with Irregular Choice stitched down the centre.
I'm sure like me, you're loving the details in these two items and are excited to see what else will follow. Plus, BAG! Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how awesome this is! What do you think, are you delighted by this duo, what else are you hoping to see?
