Festive Beauty 2022: Day 9

Every day until Christmas, I'll be blogging limited edition festive beauty releases from over the years. Yesterday I shared the amazing Rouge Dior Minaudiere and today I have quite an unusual lipstick. This is from Lancôme's 2019 Holiday Collection. Alongside the usually repeated shades (Rose Nu and Caprice), was L'Absolu Rouge in 503 Golden Holiday, a sheer finish in a sparkling gold colour. This can either be used on top of other lip colours (but I don't like doing this as it gets dirty and I never have patience time for lip brushes) or worn alone. I actually got this quite recently, so haven't tried it on the lips, but it's really pretty when swatched.

I've included several images so you can see that it has a metallic sheen to it, but is sheer and then has sparkles suspended in it. I think it's the way the sparkles sit that makes it so pretty.  I swatched it heavily, then applied just one swipe next to that so you could see that it does deposit quite a bit of colour, but without the warmer tone.

The theme for this packaging was (oddly) silver, which mixes the metals! Inside, the lipstick is gold as well as the lipstick itself then it has a silver cover...I personally find it all clashes a bit. It's the usual gradient from sparkling to just silver that Lancôme have released in several Christmas launches now, in other colours too.

You press the rose on the top of the lipstick to pop the lipstick out, then give it a pull and twist it up as normal. Push it back in until it pings. I never tire of opening this, it's fun!
