Festive Beauty 2022: Day 7

Today's blog post is brought to you through plentiful procrastination via excessive photos and unnecessary anguish. If I spent as long actually working as I did worrying about photos and blog posts not being perfect, I'd have finished all the way up until Christmas by now! I take too many photos, way too many photos (I know that, but I also take rubbish photos, so hope there will be one gem in amongst a bad bunch), so it's hard to go through them all and get rid of what I don't need, it all takes time. The item I have today is from a collection I bought a lot from (so literally hundreds of photos) and I actually started editing the photos for Festive Beauty 2021, but never had time to finish. I still don't, so I'm bringing you one item today instead. I have so many folders to go through and so many pictures I want to retake or swatches I need to get and there's never any daylight in Winter (why do I always forget that?), so yeah, I chopped and changed my mind numerous times today and decided I'd bring you this, so here goes. Remember to check the bottom for a discount/free gift and head over to The Shoe Girl Diaries for daily Irregular Choice Christmas shoes. Oh and yesterday's post if you missed it was, the Anna Sui Minnie Mouse nail polishes.
I got really into Kiko Milano a few years back. I love their limited edition seasonal releases, though I have to admit they are all a bit samey in terms of product, just presented in a slightly different way (which still makes me want it; embossed powders or lipsticks and fancy compacts are one of my many weaknesses). Holiday Gems was their 2020 release and much like MAC and other brands, they have a colour collection then a coordinating gift collection. To be honest, it can be quite overwhelming as there's so much to look at and choose from. They do skincare bits in amongst the makeup too, it's a lot! Anyway this is one of their gift sets, the Gorgeous Eye-Shadow Palette in 03 Sparkling Moments. I really didn't need this, but I think I bought it during a Black Friday offer or something where I needed something to make the money up.
It contains 5 powder shadows, all incredibly soft, to the point I wonder if they'll actually work or just disappear with a brush. If I recall correctly the other shades had mattes in them, the shimmering finish in these drew me in! They are all very neutral-pinky-brown colours. I love the attention to detail in Kiko products though, from the faceted finish on the powders to the gem-like, green compact and outer packaging, they do themes very well.
I've never had the chance to use this yet, because since Covid I don't get out to wear makeup or have the energy to do it just for fun. The swatches are on bare skin, finger swatched and unedited. Like I say, they felt so incredibly soft, I just wonder if they'll completely wash away when you try and blend it. I have an order on it's way from Cyber Monday with some bits from their new Joyful Holiday release and a few other things (actually a lot as it's been a while since I ordered from them). I'm quite excited as there were some things I'd thought I'd missed out on, that I managed to snag. I do plan on showing you the rest of this Holiday Gems collection when time permits; the lipsticks I bought, I use regularly and the highlighter and blushes look absolutely divine. FREE beauty bag worth over £120 when you spend £120 on site, adds to basket automatically when qualifying products purchased. Will not add to bag if out of stock. Valid until end of 9th December.
