Haul & Swatches: MAC & YSL

I mentioned in my last beauty haul post that I placed a little order online at Debenhams to get the YSL gloss that had sold out instore along with a couple of MAC things from the new collections. So here it is...
First up is the delightful, Golden Gloss in 55 Arctic Blue £22. It's a bright, bold turquoise with reasonably sporadic, multi-coloured glitter. The camera picked up the swatch as a clear gloss and didn't show the colours of the sparkles, but I can verify there's a hint of blue and the sparkles can definitely be seen in all their glory. I think I mentioned last time the other shade in the Christmas Look 2012 (56 Polar pink) is pretty too, but I thought it was too similar to my 45 White Gold Opal from last year to justify buying it too. Like I said, it's really worth checking out this collection-I'm really excited by it and think it's really beautiful. I also wanted to add that the highlighter compact and eyeshadow quad come in silver sparkly pouches which I think is a really cute touch.
I tried to really reign myself in with the MAC holiday launches this year. I have to say the look and feel of it all is totally to my taste in leopard print, pastels and with an old glamour, boudoir feel, so it was difficult! In the end I just went with a nail polish and lipstick from Glamour Daze.
The lipstick; I was torn between going for Beauty (a cool pale pink) which seemed most 'me' or Outrageously Fun which is a bright violet pink. In the end I decided Beauty wasn't pigmented enough to justify spending £15.50 on it, so I went with OF. It's my favourite Cremesheen formula and is a bright magenta-violet which I'm hoping will suit me (I haven't tried it yet). The best 'true to colour' photos were with the flash as without, it looked like a paler, cool lilac, so I didn't include those images. The swatches show 2 swipes versus several and I've also added a little of the YSL gloss over the top end, in the hope it would show how pretty the gloss was, but my camera wasn't having it!
Finally the nail polish, my first MAC one, is Everything That Glitters £11. A glossy black with multi-coloured, multi-dimensional glitter. It seems nail polish is my thing lately. I can't wait to try this one out, it looks so pretty.
I was supposed to get a free YSL mascara sample with my order, but didn't.  I emailed them about it and they were very good and sent it out (I got it yesterday).  I also managed to get another 750 bonus points buying this lot, so I'll have mega rewards due at the end of the month! I'll have swatches of the items in the other post next week as I haven't had a spare moment this week.

    1. thank you and welcome : ) Have been wearing it this week; didn't go on as glossy as I was expecting, it doesn't have a high-shine to the black, but 2 coats was suffice. It's chipped pretty quickly (without top coat). Not hugely impressed but not disappointed either.
