Irregular Choice 'Endangered' Panda Boots

I'm convinced today is Friday and thought this would be the perfect 'end of the working week for some' post. However it's only Thursday (man this week has been slow), but who cares, it's shoes! Not just any shoes, sparkly, weird shaped, double soled, panda boots!! I first saw these here in white, a million months ago and thought "WOW-zers". I like the white even more than the black actually, but the black are for sale and the white aren't and it's doubtful they ever will be produced, so I'll take what I can! On the Irregular Choice website there was initially one size of each Endangered bootie and I stalked the hell out of them; refusing to be naughty and transfer money from my ISA for them (which I've been doing all too often lately) as I didn't have a spare £150 lying around. I dug into the depths of my shoe collection and eBayed as much as I could (by the way plu-plug, I have loads of new stuff up just now ending this weekend, Vivienne Westwood, Isabel Marant etc), sadly it seems sales are slow unless it's the end of month (pay day). Once I finally scraped together £150, the boots sold out that exact day. Boooo!

I knew it would happen! I'd emailed Irregular Choice to enquire about sizing anyhow and they recommended I get the size up (39) because they do have a high instep. Seeing as both sizes (38/39) were out of stock, they offered to order them from the Carnaby Street store and do a phone order and send them to me. Obviously I was ecstatic and here they are! As soon as I'd spotted the white ones, I knew I had to have them, no matter how much they cost, so actually I was pleasantly surprised at £150. It's the one pair from AW12 that I couldn't have lived without.

I'm not going to say much more because the pictures speak for themselves. I will say, I've only tried them on once, but I think the sizing info is correct-I'm glad I got the size up as there's not oodles of room in these. The platform/heel might take a little getting used to (I'm sure I'll be a pro in no time), when you look at the sole it finishes in a sharp point at the heel as the sole tapers drastically! They weigh a ton because of that huge, sculptural wedge and all those jewels! You can't really see the different textures in these images because the shoes are black, but on the white pair you can see the whole panda body (not just the sparkly bits) and it's the same on the black pair (in different materials) and I love the little pom-poms.

The sole, box and tissue paper all feature the new panda print for AW12, which as usual, is absolutely adorable.

Oh and I picked up this adorable panda ring the other day in Debenhams to match. It's a crappy mobile phone pic, but you get the idea. It probably weighs the same as the shoes to be honest!
