limited edition Spring 2012 floral No7 highlighter compact
Another week gone by and I haven't published any new posts other than my weekly shoe review on The Shoe Girl Diaries. This week has just been ugh. From start to finish, if it could go wrong, it has. I'm honestly done with this week already! In fairness, I am working on a big post at the moment that is very picture heavy, so it's taking time. I've been really lacking in motivation this week to tackle to it though. However, here's our weekly trip down memory lane and I don't think I've featured No7 yet. Last week, was the beautiful carousel Paul & Joe lippie and case. Going through my makeup I've been surprised by the amount of No7 items I have to be truthful. I wasn't aware I bought all that much from them, but I guess I got sucked into every limited edition release and it was likely 3 for 2 (isn't it always?!) and I probably played that game where you use a £5 voucher for whatever you're buying, only to qualify for another, so buy something else to get another voucher and so on and so on. I remember actually having to ask them not to give me another voucher one time, because it was the last day of the promotion and I'd just about bought one of everything off the stand in separate transactions, it was ridiculous. Anyway, I digress.

This is the No7 Vital Enlightening Highlighting Powder from their Floral Brights collection for Spring 2012, so not the oldest thing I've shared here. I actually blogged about this range at the time, so I've familiarized myself with the details. The range consisted of 2 cream blushes, an eyeshadow palette, neither of which I bought and 2 lipsticks, which I did get. Clearly 3 for 2! This powder, according to my post, was £13 (the lipsticks £10 each), which I think is quite steep, especially almost a decade ago, but I swear the same thing happens at Christmas, where Boots charge more because they know they'll give you one free during the promotion. There is 10g of product in here, which is a decent amount I suppose.

The compact came unboxed, the lipsticks (had I remembered I owned those too, I would've photographed them as well instead of continually referring to them), were boxed with this print but their casings plain white inside. This one has a bright floral pattern on the white lid with a black base to the compact. I quite like it, it's cheerful and fun. Inside is a mirror and the highlighter pretty much takes up the whole size of the compact.

It has this textured petal design, like layers and is a champagne shade. The powder had a really shimmery overspray, which has almost completely disappeared with me using it (you can just see a bit in the corner). I hate overspray, it's such a party pooper! Can we all just take a moment though to congratulate me on actually using something that was likely pretty when pristine. I was quite proud of myself back in my original post, for digging into it so quickly after buying it! Some things never change!! The highlighter underneath is still quite lovely, very close to my skin colour when swatched, so it looks quite natural on me. It's not glittery, just a nice healthy, grown-up sheen that feels very light on the skin. The back of the compact says "Instant radiance to awaken your skin. This beautiful, incredibly smooth & weightless highlighter gives a luminous, natural finish. Sweep with a large brush over the skin for an instant glow of translucent colour. Versatile as well as eye-catching this palette is to be used across the face, neck or décolletage."

For hygiene reasons, I wouldn't use this on my face now, but I might repurpose it to use on my legs.  I think it would provide a really nice, natural sheen down my shins.  Love a shin shine!
