Review: No7 Lash 360 Masara

Image
In the next installment of reviews of No7 mascara, meet Lash 360 £12, which is designed to give up to 7 times more volume to every single lash. See my original complete guide to No7 mascara post for the brush type. It's quite bushy, fluffy and misshapen-it wasn't the worst brush I've ever come across, but I wasn't entirely convinced by it either. The first image, as always, shows my eye without makeup to give you an idea of how this mascara works. The image below shows after application without combing through lashes with a lash-comb. Then the images below that show the combed lashes. I feel I don't have much to say on this mascara, it performed ok , but didn't amaze me. It did manage to reach the corner and smaller lashes, but you can see it did clump very slightly, so it's best to comb through afterwards. I didn't think it held the curl very well, although I used this mascara yesterday again and it seemed to work better. I felt I had to really work t...

Guess by Carvela

Image
I finally managed to get my hands on these beautiful Guess platforms from Carvela last week. They have a Kirkwood - esque slanted platform, statement heel and feature various materials in the most luscious purple, green and blue snake effect. They are very tight across the foot (where the black strap meets the purple above the toes), but I could live with it. However, I'm saddened to say I had to return them. If you notice the back of the shoe really curves inwards (ridiculous really) and I couldn't get the zip up. My fingers were red raw from all the pulling, but unfortunately I have a leg attached to my foot, which I think the designers at Carvela maybe forgot, thus it was never going to work. It sucks because they are so pretty and I'd been longing for them for ages, but oh well, another one bites the dust.

Rimmel Lipstick Swatches

Image
I decided to swatch some of my Rimmel lipsticks for you today. I really like these Lasting Finish l/s, they smell gorgeous and I love the pigmented earthy colours. Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 305 Nude Praline (a pinkish brown, no shimmer), 315 Natural Glow (a bright true copper), 320 Nearly Nude (my favourite a medium neutral brown, similar but more brown than 305, no shimmer) and 330 Nude Bronze (a dark, rich chocolate brown with copper shimmer). Some pretty nudes, Volume Booster in 112 Honey Honey (can come out quite orangey , so you need a light hand) and Moisture Renew in 700 Nude Delight (lighter and slightly more sheer than 112).

Review: No7 Full Impact Mascara

Image
I've just recently rediscovered No7 Full Impact mascara and I really like it. However when I checked my previous post on the complete range of No7 mascaras , I realised it's discontinued. It's a real pity because it would put the more recent mascara launches to shame. The top image shows my eye makeup free to give you the best idea of how this works. First of all the brush is quite slim so it's easy to reach the smaller and corner lashes. The actual mascara is quite wet and very black and glossy-similar to Extravagant Lashes (EL), but because of the brush design, the result is far superior. This really coats every lash and because the mascara is so dark it gives a very dramatic effect. It does take a little longer to dry, but doesn't get all over my lids like EL did. I found this mascara really holds a curl, which last all day. Unfortunately the lighting wasn't so good in a couple of these close-up shots and the mascara looks clumpy and a slightly weird colour-...

MAC Give Me Liberty of London Haul Pics Pt.2

Image
As promised here are the lovely lip products from my MAC Liberty of London haul. I'm still lemming Petals & Peacocks lipstick, but I'm telling myself I don't need it (as I already have Gladiola). The other lipglasses were beautiful too, but I just settled with the one. I'm slightly disappointed with Ever Hip which I wore the other day. It's a beautiful shade, not nearly as bright as I thought, it's got a lovely soft quality to it, but I just don't think I suit it or can pull it off unfortunately. I've taken lots of comparison swatches too. Again, click images to enlarge and do not steal the photos please. Frankly Fresh lipglass (swatch is shown in the Ever Hip comparison swatches photo). Ever Hip cremesheen is compared to Lollipop Loving (which has the unique green glitter sheen and is more peachy than orangey) and Euro Beat dazzleglass (the perfect gloss to partner with EH). Blooming Lovely compared to Lavender Whip (much cooler) and Fashion Mews (...
