I thought you might be interested in seeing how my Irregular Choice Tall Tail platforms measure up to other shoes in my collection. It can be quite hard to grasp the size of them, when they're standing alone in a photo. So I figured you might own some of these or be able to gauge their size in comparison to known styles (not just Irregular Choice). I have some heels that come close, but the massive platform is really what sets them apart. I've included links to the individual The Shoe Girl Diaries posts for most styles, so you can see how they look on the foot too (you might not have seen them before as some are quite old). You can see more detailed photos of Tall Tail in this post or how they look on the foot here and also a video walking in them. The platform is 6" and heel 8 1/4".
Dan Sullivan 'Visionary Viper' Platform: 2" Heel: 5 3/4"
Irregular Choice 'Endangered' Platform: 1 3/4" Heel: 5 1/2"
Irregular Choice 'Kitty Princess' Platform: just over 1" Heel: 5"
Irregular Choice 'The Big L' Platform: 1 1/2" Heel: 6"
Irregular Choice 'Petrisha' Platform: 2" Heel: just under 5 1/2"
Irregular Choice 'Pixie Dust' Platform: 2 1/4" Heel 6 1/2"
Irregular Choice 'Roarsum' Platform: 2" Heel: 5 1/2"
Irregular Choice 'One Who Charms' Concealed platform: 3/4" Heel: 4 3/4"
Irregular Choice 'Fluffy Tail' Concealed platform: 3/4" Heel: 4 1/2"
Markus Lupfer cat platforms Platform: 2 1/2" Heel: 6"
Bordello Teeze 20 Concealed platform: just over 1 1/2" Heel: 6"
Jeffrey Campbell Icy doll Platform: 2" Heel: 6"
Jeffrey Campbell Lita Concealed platform: 1 3/4" Heel: just under 5"
New Look/LCF 'Ruth' wedge Platform: 2 1/4" Heel: 6 3/4"
ASOS Ablaze Platform: 1 1/4" Heel: 5 3/4"
Topshop 'Sophie' Platform: 1 1/2" Heel: 6 1/4"
Topshop Supreme Concealed platform: 2 3/4" Heel: 6 3/4"
Office 'Simple Minds' Platform:1 1/2" Heel: 6"
So the highest heels are Topshop Supreme and New Look at 6 3/4", with the former also owning the largest platform at 2 3/4". Which pales in comparison when you realise the platform on Tall Tail is actually 6"!! That's the same height as The Big L, Bordello, Markus Lupfer or JC Icy heels! Topshop Sophie are the one pair that almost crippled me from this post. Supreme and New Look feel very high, but Sophie I struggle with (likely because the platform isn't that high in comparison to the heel). Tall Tail are much easier to master than any of those three, because your foot is relatively flat in them. What do you think, could you tackle any of these? What are the highest heels or platforms in your collection?

Oooh, they aren't as tall as I thought they would be in comparison to some of the IC heels I have, the dinosaurs, Pixie Dust and those ASOS Ablaze wedges are all pretty easy to walk in, so maybe they're not too tall for me after all.
ReplyDeleteExactly. I forget how tall Ablaze are, as they are really comfortable to wear.
DeleteHa, this is so comical, esp the apples!!x
ReplyDeleteI tried oranges, but they are so massive right now, I couldn't even get two to sit without toppling. I almost had 4 apples, but they were leaning too much and going to fall!
DeleteWow these are so unique. (I love the castle on them!) My highest heels are 16cm. I love this post btw, I love seeing you compare the sizes of the heels and also I love all of your shoes so I love seeing more than one pair in a post :)) (Lots of love for this post, obviously;))
ReplyDeleteI hoped it would brings smiles, getting to see lots of shoes gathered in one post! It's a strange feeling to be up so high, yet with a flat foot, rather than an elevated heel. Makes them really easy to walk in though.
