Irregular Choice: Squeezy Bear Heels

Irregular Choice Squeezy Bear Heels
I was really excited when the postie arrived with a parcel for me this morning. My Irregular Choice Squeezy shoes already! I wasn't expecting them so soon and thought this week would drag waiting for them (and a laptop I kinda spur-of-the-moment bought at the weekend-to hopefully end my computer woes). So, I quickly had breakfast and got to it, with possibly the cutest photo shoot I've gotten to do for the blog. I like when I can throw weird and wonderful things into the mix instead of 'straight presenting' something, so I hope you enjoy the photos.

I was already pretty psyched about these shoes and on first sight, they were exactly as I imagined them to be. Little lovable, raggy teddy bears! I've had a few days lately when life has been getting me down, but I don't think it's possible to be grumpy around these shoes.  They are so fun and silly, you just smile whenever you see them.  I bought the brown pair with gold mirror heel and ordered a 5/38 (my usual size) and a 6/39 because I usually size up in character heels, to try both. They have an almond shaped toe with little ears that stick up onto your feet. The googly eyes are sewn on (not just glued, if you were worried about them not being secure) and move around as you walk (you might have to get used to the 'shaking' noise). You may have noticed, one eye on one of my shoes is stuck (you know who'll love that don't you?).  It will not budge, so he's like My Little Pony's 'Derpy' all the time.  It's too adorable to be concerned about!  The inside features the floral velvet with holographic snakeskin we've seen previously and the same bird print sole. The heel is on the lower side (compared to unicorns, fawns, bunnies etc) at 3 1/2". The heel is exactly the same mould as the other pandas, with no 'right' or 'left', both face the same way. The entire thing is shiny gold, with no shading and the heel tip is golden too. I'm almost in the same position as I was with my lamb heels, that the 5 are quite tight, but the 6 too big. They don't feel as small as the lamb though if I remember correctly, I'm not getting numb toes, just a little tightness at the heel. I'm positive with wear they'll stretch, which is why I would be worried about keeping the bigger size. On one foot they already slip off when walking, so I'm sure they would end up too big. So I think I'm going to keep the 5 and return the 6. If you're a regular size without wide feet, you'll be fine with your own size. Half sizes or wide feet, I'd personally still persevere with the smaller size, but it all depends on your comfort levels. Irregular Choice Squeezy Bear Shoe side Irregular Choice Squeezy Bear Shoe
I now need to go off and rearrange my shoe shelves to slot these in (though I suspect they'd be happier nestled in amongst my toys instead).  Typical that I concentrated on (and filled) the character heels first!  There wasn't really room for new ones and I knew that would be likely, so I did have a feeling they'd have to be rearranged.  Like I said in my original post, these are possibly my favourite uppers, so the heel is just a bonus for me!  They are just the right side of crazy and it was immensely fun to style them with my old (and some new) soft toys.  What do you think?

  1. Oh, wow. I saw a photo of these and had not realised at all that they were character heels. Just assumed they were a re-hash of the Kirby heels, which I love and have worn a lot. They're pretty cute, but I don't think they're different enough for me to need them in my collection.

    1. Yes they remind me a little of those. I have the Cougar Cubs, but they are hairy rather than fluffy and not quite as cute. The gold heel blends wonderfully with the brown I think.

  5. Oh they look soooooooooooooooo cute nestled amongst your toys. I am seriously tempted now you say they are lower. They have a 41 but not a 42 in the panda ones. Tempted... I am a 42...

    1. It was fun to shoot! They are smaller than the perspex heels (I know you find them too high) x
