Flashback Beauty Friday 76: Hard Candy Sonic Sparkle Dust

Hard Candy Sonic Sparkle Dust
Last week I shared swatches of my Versace lipstick collection; their Wet Lipgloss and Hydrating Lipsticks. This week I'm taking it back about 20 years to another discontinued brand, well, in the UK at least.

I've spoken about Hard Candy in Flashback Beauty Friday several times previously. They, in my opinion (along with Urban Decay) were the ultimate in 00's makeup. They made cosmetics fun with their colourful, collectable packaging and quirky concepts or shade names. HC haven't been around the UK for years now, I was actually surprised to see they do still exist in the US. Clearly not on the same scale as they used to be though. The product I have today is the Sonic Sparkle Dust.

These are little pots (1.5g) of sparkling loose powder for the eyes. They come in transparent cubes (visible colour in the bottom part) with a twist off lid and sifter inside.

I have shades Plush (baby blue) and Static (purple). I was a bit disappointed when I swatched them for this post, I was hoping for more glitter and shine. Both were quite sheer, needed built up and a bit chalky (especially the blue). They are 20 years old though, so maybe they used to be more impressive, I'll be honest and say I can't really remember now!

Do you remember these?  There were other colours too.
