Boots Star Gift: Soap & Glory Bubble Act

products from Soap & Glory Bubble Act Christmas set
Boots Star Gift this week is one of the most anticipated each year, Soap & Glory. The set this year is called Bubble Act and comes specially packaged for the promotion in a beautiful tin designed by illustrator, Zuki Turner. The tin is quite different to previous boxes or bags, though still in keeping with that retro feel S&G products have.

It's a round drum with a shallow lid and a pink rope handle. There's lots of vintage pin-up ladies, a big wheel and my favourite the carousel horse and retro ticket. Inside is packed. Honestly I'm super impressed at the amount and size of products in it this year. The set retails for £60, but is actually worth £80 and for this week, you're getting it for £30. I've seen mixed reviews regarding the set this year, which I'm a bit baffled by, as I think it's one of the best. Some people have said it's too samey, that they bring out the same products each year. I think there's a great balance of new and classic releases in this set.  I'm glad of staples like their shower gel and body lotion, which keeps me stocked up all year, but I'm also happy to trial new items I haven't used before.  I'm not sure people would appreciate taking the risk of buying a big set of entirely new releases, not knowing if they were going to work for them or not.  Plus S&G don't launch enough new things in a year for that!  I didn't get the set last year, so can't really compare it to that, but I'm pleased with the selection. You know I love my masks, so I'm always super, super excited to get one and I happen to love S&G's masks. The lip plumper is a lovely, neutral shade and unusually full sized this time (you usually only get mini's). The dry skin balm and dry shampoo are completely new S&G products to me, I haven't tried them before. The hand cream, I use regularly and normally you receive the pink tube (125ml), this time it's a bumper bottle with pump at 250ml, which I wasn't even aware they did! The only thing I wouldn't use here is the bath bomb. We do have a bath, but I never use it as I find it too difficult to get in and out. Honestly, I can't see why anyone wouldn't like this, there's a great selection of bath, body and face products that are universally appealing. Plus 12 products at £30 is working out at £2.50 each which is phenomenal value. I don't remember previous sets coming with as many products and them being all full sized either.  If you fancy the Bubble Act, it's still available online (I'd get it delivered, it's quite heavy to carry!) and the Star Gift offers change each Friday, so you don't have long to snap this up. What do you think, did you or are you planning to get the set this year? Also, it's another hot one on Friday, No7!
