Irregular Choice Alice: White Rabbit

Long time, no speak! However, I'm reviewing White Rabbit, my final Irregular Choice Alice shoes for you tonight. Firstly I want to apologise for the lack of blogging lately. I've been spreading myself a little thin this past month and something had to give. So I concentrated on TSGD and PHP got ignored, sorry! With this post, I've now shown you all of my Alice shoes in both reviews and on the foot, so I'll do a mega link at the bottom of the post if you've missed any. irregular choice disney alice in wonderland white rabbit heels

White Rabbit were a style I'd seen early on, albeit partially. I kept finding new photos, revealing a little bit more (!) until I'd seen the whole shoe. I was intrigued by them straight away, but there was a little uncertainty too. I'll be honest and say I wasn't totally convinced. I loved the pale pink colour, the sequins, the lace frill, but the heel together with the shoe and the fringing at the front, were the bits I wasn't so sure about. On the day of the launch, it was revealed they also came in black, but there was something about the pink that still fascinated me, so I ordered those. When they arrived, I was blown away by how amazing they were. Truly, they shot up to (maybe) my favourite of all 5 pairs I bought (and you know how much I love All Mad Here). My Mum wondered why I was ordering them in the first place, as she thought they were ugly, but likewise, she completely changed her opinion when she saw them. She thinks they are beautiful and are definitely her favourite of the bunch. irregular choice disney alice in wonderland white rabbit pink irregular choice disney alice in wonderland white rabbit shoes
The shoe itself is high sided and mainly covered in peachy pink sequins. They are attached in such a way that they can be flipped over, if you wish. I believe the black pair are silver on the back, these are just matte peach, so I much prefer the shiny side up. They are more peach than pink in reality, but come across quite pink in photos. There's a yellow and green flash in the light too which you can see in some of my images. They feel very mermaidy as there's so much texture in the way the sequins sit. The shoe is trimmed with pink metallic material at the back of your heel and on the fringe down the front. This is super pretty as it's pearly, but with a high glossy finish over the top. As you can see at the back, there's little hearts punched out and a zig-zag edge. The upper edge of the shoe is trimmed in white broderie anglaise, which is gathered in a pleated fashion. I squeal every time I look at this, as it sticks out from the shoe, it's so cute. irregular choice disney alice white rabbit pink sequins frill irregular choice disney alice white rabbit pink metallic hearts irregular choice disney alice white rabbit lace trim
The fringed tongue, down the centre front has red embroidered hearts on it (a large central one and a smaller one on each side) and each 'fringe' has a heart cut out of the tip like the heel section. The top part sits upwards from the foot, higher than the vamp. The fringe splays out over the toe. Now because of the high sided style and lack of visible fastening, I figured I'd need to size up. The opening to get your foot in, does look rather small doesn't it? I am so pleased I did, this style is definitely a full size small. I can just ease my foot down and once in, my toes touch the tip (not in a sore way) of the shoe. There is however, a small section of gold sparkly elastic underneath the fringed tongue. It's nifty and much needed with this shoe shape, I'm so glad they had the foresight to put it in. I have to say though, I really love the feeling when I'm wearing these, they hug your feet, it's comforting! They are probably the comfiest or at least, best fitting for my foot of all the styles I tried. irregular choice disney alice white rabbit embroidered hearts irregular choice disney alice in wonderland white rabbit toe fringe irregular choice disney alice white rabbit heels hidden elastic
Around the lower front of the shoe is deep bronze glitter with a scalloped edge and even on this section, there are heart cut outs with the pink metallic material peeping through. There's a 1" concealed platform on the shoe. At the back of your heel there's a large fluffy bunny tail in white. It's considerably larger than the tail we saw recently on Bunnie Love and Hop Along or Izzy Bear from last winter. It's not long haired like the one on the gold bunny heeled Fluffy Tail. The shoe already has a lot going on, but I swear I'll never turn down a fluffy pom pom, it's the perfect addition, I love it. irregular choice disney alice in wonderland white rabbit pink heels irregular choice disney alice white rabbit fluffy tails irregular choice disney alice white rabbit bunny tail
Then we come to the heel, the White Rabbit itself, which was also available on the I'm Late, I'm Late style in this range. It's a chunky shape, 5" high and heavy like the teapot/teacup on One Lump Or Two? and All Mad Here. I've tried to decipher if one is heavier than the other (suffice to say I'd never win a game of 'guess the weight...'), but I feel the bunny might be a little lighter (though the solid platform on those other styles add weight compared to the concealed one on this). The Alice character heel on Tea With Alice and Flowers Can't Talk is much lighter, lower and slimmer, plus neither of those styles had platforms. The rabbit is dressed in pale blue trousers, a red jacket with yellow trim and purple painted bow. He doesn't really stick out the back of the shoe, he's in line, underneath the sole. His bent arms do ever so slightly stick out the sides, but not enough that I've noticed it being an issue when walking. He carries the giant pocket-watch (time 12.25) and there's no right and left heel, both face the same way. His own bunny tail is sticking out of the back of his trousers and is not only painted white, but carved to look fluffy. His head holds up the shoe with his ears sitting backwards under the sole. As with all Irregular Choice character heels, no detail is neglected because of where it's situated. If you detached the heel from the rest of the shoe, it would be a complete rabbit figure, with a flat head of course! As you'd expect, he's a little slimmer at the head and feet, with the heel expanding around the middle section. In saying that, there's still a good steady base for the heel tip (his two feet side by side).  His face is full of character, with his open mouth, raised eyebrows and glasses perched perilously on the edge of his nose.  You really do feel he's late, he's late, for a very important date!irregular choice disney alice in wonderland white rabbit heel detail irregular choice disney alice white rabbit heel detail irregular choice white rabbit character heels irregular choice white rabbit heel close up irregular choice white rabbit heel outer side irregular choice white rabbit heel back irregular choice white rabbit heel front irregular choice white rabbit heel inner side irregular choice white rabbit heel tail detail irregular choice white rabbit heel tip
As with all the styles in the Alice range the inners feature the same multi character printed fabric. The soles on these are different to each other, though are both of the White Rabbit in different scenes from the movie. The main image is situated on the flat part of the sole and tapers off into the multi print from instep to heel. irregular choice disney alice in wonderland white rabbit soles irregular choice disney alice in wonderland white rabbit right sole irregular choice disney alice in wonderland white rabbit left sole irregular choice white rabbit right sole close up irregular choice white rabbit left sole close up
Like I said at the beginning, they are seriously impressive. There's so many different aspects I love on them and such attention to detail. I can definitely see me wearing them a lot. I hope you've enjoyed these reviews and a closer look at the details on all of the shoes. I love sharing these bits that you'd perhaps miss when looking at stock photos.  I also want to add that once more I continue to be amazed by the concepts Dan Sullivan conceives. After all these years and all the shoes I've seen or owned, I'm still excited, engaged and impressed by what they offer, when I could so easily become jaded.  That's why I'll always love Irregular Choice, the ideas never get stagnant, there's constant stimulation.  What do you think of these bunny heels and can you pick a favourite from the 5 styles I bought?  Links to all previous posts below.    irregular choice disney alice white rabbit heel

  1. The black pair's sequins are indeed silver on the back. If they were not arranged like scales, I'd flip them for the huge contrast.

  2. They are absolutely gorgeous! I especially loves the white rabbit heels and the images of him on the soles. So cute!

  3. Also, I deffo found these more comfy than One Lump, the higher vamp doesn't dig into the top of my foot like most ICs do (because my arch is stupid high).

The hugginess is nice because the heel is pretty substantial

    1. Absolutely. One Lump are still really tight on me in the size up, whereas these just fit perfectly in the size up.

    2. Yes, I did, but I was so broke that I couldn't have afforded more than one pair of heels!

  5. I love all the details you pointed out,you MAKE them seem v exciting!!! I didn't really like the overall effect of these (it is to do with the colour combination of pink, yellow, red, brown) but you're very persuasive so I like them more now!!

Your reviews does make me want them but on the other hand fullfills the need to view them myself :) I hope it makes sence with this english :) thanks anyway!

  7. Well, these shoes are great, but I'm as a larger footed girl, I am pissed at IC for not sizing right. I have some of the black ones and I don't really like them. I am only keeping them because I wanted one pair of shoes with the rabbit heel.

Do you know at all from anyone if the super expensive beaded ones fit really small like the pink and black sequined ones? I would love to get the pink and they have some in my size in the link you offered, but they don't send to the US. What is up with IC that they couldn't have just renamed the sizes on these shoes. I wear 40 and even the 41s are pretty tight. I think I could have sized up even 2 sizes, but probably 1 1/2 sizes would be best except they don't do half sizes anymore.

I really love the pink. The mermaid color sequins are just so beautiful and really go good with the red hearts. Thanks for the post.

I just wish I could find some in my size.

As for the Flowers Cant Talk, I finally got some that fit and they are a 39. So in this line, some shoes you have to size up at least one and others you have to size down 1 size.

Their shoes are really great designs, but I wish they would get it together on the sizing. IC's lax attitude toward sizing has cost me a lot of money. Money I could have spent on their shoes. Oh well, I guess women don't care whether their shoes fit well or not. Men would not put up with this at all.

IC really needs to work on their size standardization. Its not that difficult anymore. There are 3d printers that will make lasts and CAD programs that interface with the 3d printes to offer the correct size.

Sorry my post is so gloomy, but I'm still disgusted that in order to get a fitting pair of Flowers Cant Talk, I had to buy 3 pairs of Flowers Can't Talk and now I have to sell two pairs and I also bought 2 whole packages of heel pads to pad the overlarge 41s (which actually fit like 42s) and those heel pads cost $25 (about 18 pounds). And so first I spent the $300 on the size 41's and then paid $350 each on a size 40 and a size 39, so a total expenditure of $925 just to get one pair of good fitting shoes. I really don't think people should have to go through this.

Oh well, IC doesn't care because most of their customers are willing to overlook this. Still it is not right.

The other shoes I bought, I was able to get them all because they were too big for the person who ordered them. So its not just me, they are screwing people over left and right. So my advice to anyone reading is, (especially those who live outside UK), order from a vendor other than IC because their returns are difficult and so better to go with a company that has a good return policy, especially since there is a high likelihood that you will need to do a return since IC shoes don't really pay attention to what size they are supposed to be.

Oh yeah, I have a couple other pairs (because I am a huge Alice fan) and so I have had to spend $8 each on three pairs sending them back because of size issues.

And IC should be concerned about this, because this money adds up and could be another pair of their shoes bought rather than wasting it on dicking around with return shipping, heel pads, and extra shipping costs just to "try" other sizes for a good fit. There is no reason the shoes should not fit the size they are marked.

    1. I'm so pleased you managed to find some Flowers. Eventually. Just a pity you'd had the expense of trying so many sizes and extra options. They are a very popular style and one that's harder to come by, so if you did decide to sell them rather than return, I'm hopeful you'd get your money back.

I haven't heard anything re the I'm Late sizing. I think they were outwith a lot of peoples price ranges. Beautiful shoes though. Being a lace up style, I'd be tempted to size up and hope I could tighten the laces if they were too large.

  8. Does anyone know how the beaded rabbit shoes fit? Do they fit really small like the sequined ones?
