Flashback Beauty Friday 45: Lancôme Golden Hat Illuminating Smooth Powder

Last week I showed you a very tropical collection from No7 and this week, I have a different kind of 'holiday'. Something sparkly from a festive Lancôme collection.

The Illuminating Smooth Powder, Goldenescent Glow in 001 Golden Hat formed part of the 2011 Christmas collection from Lancôme. Kate Winslet was a spokesperson and model for the brand and also founded the Golden Hat Foundation, an autism awareness charity. She asked Lancôme if they would be involved in some way and they responded with this festive launch which included lipsticks and nail polishes alongside the star piece, this beautiful highlighter.

The shiny black square compact features a hat outlined in gold with Kate's signature beneath and the Lancôme rose in the corner. Inside is a full size mirror and round pan pressed powder.

The powder itself is a soft, pale pink with lots of sparkles and a raised gold, metallic hat in the centre. This is one of these things I bought expecting to use, then just haven't been able to!

The lipsticks in this collection also featured the hat outline on the cases, but the fact the powder has the hat too really makes it unique for me. It's an unusual concept for makeup. Do you remember this one?
