Video Review: Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless

Image
Hello! Well I've been a bit of a busy bee for the past couple of days. I've filmed several videos in an attempt to actually validate the fact that I have a You Tube account! I really neglected it last year and have to admit to being much more comfortable in written/still photo formats than videos hence my hesitation to upload videos frequently. Plus I rarely get the house to myself and I need that to film fluently and uninterrupted. So yesterday, home alone, got the camera set up and filmed away! It takes bloomin' ages to edit and get it just the way you want, then towards the end I just got bored of listening to and watching the same thing, so I'm hoping I've saved and published the correct version! Anyway it's for the new Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless mascara which I was sent to try out last month. I think it comes out in in the UK in a few weeks and in all honesty, I like it, but wasn't blown away by it. I can't confirm that I've not...

Review: Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells Mascara

Image
I first started using this mascara last year and meant to review it then because I was immediately very impressed with it. I'm such a prat though because I actually have several mascaras to review and took lots of close-ups each day I was wearing them and uploaded them but didn't get the chance to edit them. So now when I look at them, I have no friggin' idea which mascara belongs to which lashes/day! Idiot! Thankfully on this particular day I included a picture of the brush which was enough to ID it, so I'm definitely talking about the correct product here with the right images. This particular mascara is the Precious Cells formula of Lancome 's 'best selling' Hypnose which uses plant cell extracts (from apples rather randomly) to regenerate lash growth, help prevent lash fall-out and generally care and condition lashes whilst volumising. I'm a fan of this idea of cosmetics actually caring for your skin/lashes/lips etc whilst also doing their job as...

Review: No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara

Image
Stone the flamin' crows! I was just updating some of my 'labels' on The Shoe Girl Diaries and flipped through all of the pages (right back to the start). It was quite interesting to see how many pairs I don't own any more and how shockingly bad my photography 'skills' were back at the start. Anyway, then I noticed I wrote 'Day Ninety Two' twice!! D'uh! Nobody noticed either! It would be waaaay too much hassle to rectify, so I'll just leave it as it is. Anyway, I received this mascara on Saturday and was so impressed with it, I thought I'd post some quick pics already. It's the newest one from No7 called Exquisite Curl and seeing as I've tried every other No7 mascara, I was really keen to give this one a go. It comes in a lovely muted lilac, shimmery tube and the brush is dense and curved. It's not too large (you know I don't like massive brushes) and I found the curve made it really easy to apply. One sweep coats all your l...

Week 2: Rimmel Lash Accelerator

Image
I've been completely neglecting my duties of presenting my 30 day lash challenge using Rimmel Lash Accelerator. I hadn't realised the time it would take to photograph and post every single day (along with everything else I have to do), so I've now just taken images a few times a week in a bid to catch up. I'm not being a very good Rimmel VIP am I? I'll be struck off! No in all seriousness, I've enjoyed using this and it is the only mascara I've used all month. I haven't worn makeup all that much lately, but I've still been trying this every day because I wanted to see if it really worked or not! The mascara has performed much the same over the past couple of weeks. I'm definitely starting to notice a difference in my bare lashes-don't you think? They seem fuller-of course I'm sure to the untrained eye you wouldn't notice, but when studying the images and my lashes up close, I'm sure I can see it. Here's some points about the...

Day 7: Rimmel Lash Accelerator

Image
I am so far behind with my Rimmel Lash Challenge (using Lash Accelerator)-so I'll just get on with it and I can really leave these images to do the talking. Day 7-this mascara wowed me. My natural lashes looked a little fuller in my opinion. Without any other makeup, this mascara gave me long, sleek lashes without clumping. Gorgeous from every angle!

Day 6: Rimmel Lash Accelerator

Image
I apologise again for neglecting my Lash Challenge duties! These images are from Day 6 and I'm sad to say I didn't like the look of my lashes this day. The next day though they were amazing, so once I finish those images you'll see the massive difference. My natural lashes weren't 'wowing' me at all and with the mascara, I felt it clumped my lashes together and they didn't look long and spindly as they had previously. I've no other makeup on at this stage but on my eyes I'm wearing Urban Decay Cherry eyeshadow and Stila Smudge Pot in Little Black Dress-a shimmery but simple look. Perhaps I just went one coat too many, there's always that fine line between lashes looking great and that tiny little extra bit of mascara just ruins it. I will say this for it though, it holds a curl well and lasts all day without smudging in the slightest. I also forgot I was wearing it one day and cried and rubbed my eyes and it still looked perfect. That same day I ...

Day 5: Rimmel Lash Accelerator

Image
Day 5 of the challenge and I definitely notice a couple of lashes have grown longer (in the centre of my eye). Unfortunately sometimes the mascara can look a little clumpy (individual lashes are clumped together). I think the brush can be quite saturated with liquid and if it were a little drier it would solve the issue. I did comb through here afterwards-I suppose because the images are magnified it looks more prominent. The liquid eyeliner is No7 Stay Perfect Eyeliner in Jewel.

Day 2-4: Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

Image
Here's a little catch-up of the past few days of my 30 day lash challenge using Rimmel Lash Accelerator. See the previous post for my initial thoughts and a look at the brush and packaging. Some of the lighting in the images is terrible, I'm realising it's very difficult to capture perfect eye shots every time! Day Two: Much the same as Day 1, I wasn't wearing any makeup, but found the mascara gave great, spidery length. If I'm being picky, it could still do with more volume. Day Three: This day I paired with thick eyeliner and was worried my lashes would fade into the background. I don't think they do though, there's still plenty definition and length. Does anyone think my natural lashes look longer or fuller than previous days? Day Four: The bigger test-to wear with eyeshadow and eyeliner. I used Clinique Blackberry eyeshadow duo and Lash Accelerator gave fantastic results. What I like about this mascara is that it is very black, I forgot to mention...
