Comparison: Irregular Choice Tall Tail

Image
I thought you might be interested in seeing how my Irregular Choice Tall Tail platforms measure up to other shoes in my collection.  It can be quite hard to grasp the size of them, when they're standing alone in a photo. So I figured you might own some of these or be able to gauge their size in comparison to known styles (not just Irregular Choice). I have some heels that come close, but the massive platform is really what sets them apart.  I've included links to the individual The Shoe Girl Diaries posts for most styles, so you can see how they look on the foot too (you might not have seen them before as some are quite old).  You can see more detailed photos of Tall Tail in this post or how they look on the foot here and also a video walking in them .  The platform is 6" and heel 8 1/4".

SkinnyDip Unicorn Tears Bag

Image
So much for a more organised week, it's been very hectic so far and I've fallen behind with everything . I'm aiming to catch up tomorrow, but massive apologies for neglecting you all and my complete lack of blog commenting (I've missed reading what you're up to, so will get up to date this weekend). Anyways, I promised 'proper' photos of my SkinnyDip Unicorn Tears bag £28 and the reason I'm posting today, is because it's back in stock. Yes, go, go, go! It went quickly last time, so if you really want it, then don't dally.

SkinnyDip Milk Carton Bag

Image
You know I love my kitsch handbags and I added another to my collection at the weekend. Well, actually I almost didn't , because I'd forgotten my package was coming and we didn't answer the door (thinking it was someone selling something or campaigning for the election, plus he looked totally shifty, but that's not the point). Anyway as 'wild man' walked back down the path, I noticed the polka dot packaging and the penny dropped that it was my Topshop parcel. Mum ran outside with no shoes on (!) but he'd already disappeared. Then she bumped into him and he said he'd left it next to the wheelie bins around the back of the house (i.e. chucked it over the high fence). Thanks mate.  Drama over and thankfully my milk wasn't curdled.  Joke.

Fancy A Flamingo?

Image
I've always had a bit of a fascination with flamingo prints on clothing and accessories. Known for being kitsch, quirky and fun, it definitely appeals to my playful side. It's no surprise then that I'm captivated by the new Moschino Cheap & Chic collection , where the pink feathered birds take centre stage. In saying that, the collection is a little less 'in your face' than you'd expect, with fresh white and pastel shades, rather than a more traditional 'tropical' print. The birds feature these cute, dangling beaded legs, which give added movement and dimension to the clothes.  It's a really lovely touch.   It's well worth browsing that collection even if it's only to 'window shop' because every item is so wonderful, I'm in awe of it all. If I had to pick a favourite, it would probably be the flamingo shaped bag £393.  Every season Moschino produce these wonderful quirky shaped bags, from a 'paper boat', to a ...

Meadham Kirchhoff For Topshop Haul

Image
So here are my Meadham Kirchhoff goodies that arrived from Topshop on Saturday. Weeks of stressing, a few hours of unsettled sleep, a late night, an early start, a helluva lot of money and a near heart attack and computer thrown through the window in rage from the pressure on the day of the sale and I'm afraid to report it's not all good news from here. The red sparkly shoes, the pair I really wanted, don't fit. I thought they looked small whenever I took their colourful quirkiness out of the box, but actually my foot slipped in Cinderella style and they hugged my feet perfectly. The straps had other ideas though. They fasten with a metal stud, so it's hit or miss, there's no room for manoeuvre. I could get all but one strap fastened (and none on the other foot strangely) and the other strap isn't even close to closing. Absolutely gutted. Add to that the fact one stud is already broken (not sure if it was already like that or if I broke it open...

Haul: Meadham Kirchhoff For Topshop

Image
I went to bed at 1am, got back up at 6am, with very little sleep in that time, all to buy some cute shoes from the Meadham Kirchhoff collection that just launched at Topshop today! I've been stressing so bad about this the past few weeks. Add to that my ridiculously slow internet, which has been playing up for a fortnight and I was wired to say the least. Some items I'd been expected, I didn't see, some items popped up that I hadn't seen in the previews. However, I managed to order the items I most wanted and after checkout taking a full 35 minutes to complete (completely down to my internet troubles, rather than a slow Topshop), I think I managed to secure an order just after 7am! Top of my list were the red sequin rainbow heels £180. They just feel magical with their witchy shape and fabulous layered rainbow heel. I decided last minute to pop this coordinating red sequin heart, lace trimmed bag  £40 in my basket too. Not sure if I'll keep it, but wo...
