Flashback Beauty Friday 85: Eyeko's Fruity Felt Lip Pen
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items.
I had another good rummage last weekend for products for this series and discovered a lot. There were a couple of things that had me teary eyed, one in particular I'd completely forgotten I owned and I love it. I'm thinking of doing my Christmas blogs again this year, so am saving any special festive launches for then. Seeing as schools went back here this week after the summer holidays, I thought it apt to photograph these items today. Firstly, last week was the jewellery themed LancĂ´me tubed eyeshadows and gloss from 2007 if you missed that.

Eyeko Relaunch
A little bit freaky after my post last week about the lovely shades of nail polish at Eyeko, that this email popped into my inbox this morning. Eyeko are relaunching their brand and only have limited quantities of stock left.
So grab them while you can, as I'm not sure which colours they'll be relaunching-they could be completely different. Remember to use my code E11752 when you spend £15 or more (that's only 3 nail polishes) and you'll receive a free Black Graffiti Eyeliner with your order.

Hello!
Hi honey-pies, how are you all? I've been AWOL these past couple of days I know...I've just been feeling a little stressed (brought on myself). I know most people will wonder how I can possibly get stressed seeing as I don't have all that much going on in my life-but I've just been procrastinating about doing stuff, rather than getting it done. I've been more tired than normal lately too, so it's taken more of an effort to get anything done. That said, it's nothing major, I'm just going to have to start making lists (uh-oh the dreaded list making) to get things done, not for the "seeing what you've achieved" and all that bull, but just to keep me on track. Anyway, there's so many posts I've wanted to write and just never find time or feel motivated enough to do-so I'm going to try and catch up this weekend (I have 3 The Shoe Girl Diaries posts to make too). Here's a pic of me-just to fill the gap seeing as Blogger still haven't rectified the spacing issue!
It was my little sisters b'day yesterday (29, scary) and I've been looking after my little nephews so haven't really had time to do anything other than check emails (which I have a ton of), so I do have some excuses. Can you believe my oldest nephew (4) said yesterday "Aunt Gemma is so old she should probably be dead...like Great Granny"? In a way it was cute that he remembers my Granny, in another way I almost smacked him-cheeky little brat. This came right before he told his little brother to "put away Aunt Gemmas broomstick" referring to my walking stick! What pleasant little boys I have eh?! Anyway, as way of compensation for my lame post making, here are some discount codes and things that are floating around...
River Island-you won't believe this, have an extra 50% off sale items for a limited time, an EXTRA 50% off! Thankfully the stuff I bought last week has sold out anyway so I've not made a loss there, but I re-ordered those gold shoes I sent back ages ago (a size bigger this time obvi) and also got these green ones too (thought they were a similar shape, so ordered the 6 as well) plus a whole load of other things I don't really need but they were like £2 or £3 and I couldn't resist!! Unfortunately they didn't have the bags I liked...

Barry M 10% off all orders until midnight Sunday. New products include Peach Melba and Blue Moon nail polish, Wink felt pen style liner (kinda craving this) and remember there's three new shades of Instant Nail Effects, see pic for details.
BeneFit-free delivery on all orders throughout April, no code required. New skincare range available now.
Eyeko-free 'Line & Shine' pencil in Pop Star when you spend £15 with code E11752.
E.L.F. free shipping and Mauve Luxe gloss see pic for more info.
Evans £10 off when you spend £60 or more online, code SAVE10. Valid until Friday 25th April.
Cocktail Cosmetics-free UK and standard airmail shipping. International Signed For will also benefit from the same discount of £3.25. Just use the code SHIPPING at the checkout. Offer is valid until the 17th April.
Miss Selfridge-free delivery when you spend £40, code SUMMERSTYLE.
MAC-free badge set when you buy any item from the Quite Cute collection online (plus free delivery with code survey9 no minimum spend).
Estee Lauder-free concealer and mascara duo with every foundation purchase online, plus free delivery over £60 and 2 samples with every order.
Dorothy Perkins-25% off everything until midnight Sunday with code DPVIPD.

Eyeko Japan Earthquake Relief
This week the only offer codes that work on Eyeko will be Ambassador codes. If you spend £15 insert my code E11752 and you'll receive a fabby free gift with your order. As an added incentive, Eyeko have promised to match all commissions made from the use of these codes this week and are donating it to the relief efforts in Japan after the earthquakes and tsunami. We've all seen the devastating images and footage on TV so anything you can give to such a cause would be fantastic and lets face it buying some pretty makeup is no hardship. I've been utterly heartbroken to see the loss of lives and entire towns just wiped out or washed away and I'm sure many of you feel the same way. So please give what you can, thank you : )

The Big Freeze
I've spent most of the day babysitting my nephews, because Mum couldn't get to their house due to the weather. My sister finished work early though because of the snow, so came to pick them up a short while ago. I'm absolutely knackered now though-they are ridiculously tiring! It's like a ghost town here with no schools in and businesses and shops shutting early and from what I hear there isn't going to be much let up, with more snow to come! My Dad managed to get stranded at Granny's last night and I'm so evil I didn't have much sympathy for him. It wasn't necessary that he travel, so he shouldn't have gone out in my opinion! The buses apparently stopped at 7pm, so he was left shivering at the bus stop and shouting down the phone at us. He had to wait for a taxi and it cost £25, so lesson learned there I reckon! I've been so tired I haven't made it outside into the snow, it's a pity I hadn't taken photos before it turned all slushy and patchy. When snow is falling, I think it's just the prettiest thing and when it's all swirly you feel like you're in a snow globe, it's so cool.
I'm getting slightly frustrated that all the parcels I was expecting haven't turned up yet (or indeed any mail today), even our Tesco delivery was cancelled (yep, we're going to starve). I reckon I have about 4 or 5 orders currently 'in transit' (i.e. stuck in snow!). I keep adding to my wishlist too (for when I eventually repay what I'm due my sister-which is going to be next year at this rate). I'm really wanting to try the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation (maybe 1c1 Shell, above), I've heard great things about it. After browsing the site there's several more items I'm adding to my list-they have some fabulous gifts sets for Christmas just now. The incentives of free delivery and samples with every order is extremely enticing too!
There have been so many great Eyeko offers that I wish I could've taken advantage of, over the past few weeks. Today on the site is another (brand new selection) Big Surprise Gift Set for £10 instead of £20. Remember to enter my ambassador code E11752 on all orders and spend another fiver and you'll get a free gift. The gift set is only available for 48 hours, so don't delay!
I'm refusing to take any more photos for the blog until I sort through the masses I already have for reviews and things. I've been so disorganised lately, taking photos and then forgetting or rather finding something else to post about and pushing the original to the back of the queue! I hope you've all been watching my shoe haul video and I'll be posting better quality images next of that for you. There probably won't be any updates to The Shoe Girl Diaries for the next few days as it's too slippy for me to get out. Happy St Andrews Day to all my Scottish lovelies and let me know how the weather is with you just now, wherever you are.

Some Updates...
I've updated the discount code post I made the other day as there is 25% off everything at Evans (today only) and 20% off at Wallis (today and tomorrow), see that post for more details. Also an update to the Clinique offer. I'm also still updating my blog roll, so if you have a style (beauty, fashion, fatshion) blog and would like your link on mine, then please leave a comment with your blog name and link.
A little update from Eyeko-you now have to spend £15 to qualify for their Ambassador code or online code gifts (but the gifts have generally been of more value since the change). They have some great value sets currently on the site in limited stock. Remember to enter my code E11752 with all orders and if you don't like the current Eyeko site gift (or perhaps you already have it, then don't enter any other code and you will receive a free surprise gift (when spending £15) just by using E11752). If you do like the site gift then enter that in the comments box (this week it's GLITTER for the free glitter eyeliner shown), plus enter my code where it says 'ambassador code', so they know I've sent you (and I earn some pennies from every order I make), whoopie!
Speaking of whoopie, we've become obsessed with whoopie pies in our house! We bought some at the weekend which were absolutely gorgeous, then Mum baked some more. They turned out way bigger than expected, so half is more than enough for me. Will this be an end to the cupcake obsession? I doubt it!
Part 2 of the dark lipstick swatches will be coming shortly and my Pearl Lowe dresses arrived yesterday from Peacocks!! I was super excited. The lace one is STUNNING, it's a little tight over the bust for me and I'm not sure what to do about it. There's a white slip/lining and if that wasn't there it would probably be ok (albeit sheer, but I could wear a camisole underneath). The slip isn't removable though, it is attached at certain points of the dress including the back zip, so it's not really something I can simply cut out. I'm not keen on the slip anyway-it's a little 'cheap'...I'll have to see. There are layers and layers of tulle and linings, so it really sits all puffy and full and I love the scalloped hem. The white (black lace bow) one is cute but I'm not used to wearing white and I'm very self conscious in it, but perhaps with a slip underneath (and control pants!) I'd feel better. The black one is another gorgeous one, I didn't realise the amount of beading in it and it's very flattering-hopefully some images to follow when the lighting is better. If you're pondering whether or not to purchase, I say if you've got the money, go for it! The dresses I bought were very good quality and although I tend not to spend that amount on one dress, it was worth it in this case. I did feel the sizing wasn't as generous as previous collections or maybe it's me getting bigger (whoopie pies to blame)!
Also, where the hell are the other 2 dresses? I really want the one Pearl is wearing and Peacocks haven't replied to my facebook messages, grrr! Was that pink dress always £50 btw? I notice it is today (I thought it was either £40 or £45).

The truth is, I forgot how little I leave the house in the winter (it's been roughly once a week if I'm lucky), so I just haven't been wearing proper clothes or shoes. It kinda sucks though because I see all the lovely items I've bought recently and I'm not getting any wear out of them. I fully intend to get back into a routine with the blog though, because I love doing it (and I need to break the rather unattractive pj bottoms/no makeup look)...so stay tuned and thanks for still visiting the archives every day.

Eyeko Cult Classics
This weather is soooo depressing (constant downpour and no daylight), it's reignited my S.A.D. (Seasonal Affective Disorder) which coincidentally I read the other day is more likely to affect May born babies (that's me), not good! Anyway a little brightness by way of one of my packages that arrived yesterday. I expected my Topshop order to come today but unfortunately it didn't and River Island just dispatched today (slow mo). Yesterday though was like Christmas in our house, no less than 8 packages arrived-I was up and down to the door like a yo-yo!
My Barry M order was one, pics to follow and this luscious little Eyeko order. There just aren't enough days in the week for all the nail polishes I've bought recently, but with colours this cute-who can resist? I got 'Cult Classics' a set of 5 nail polish shades (unfortunately currently out of stock) and got Punk free (current offer is Vintage free). Remember to use my ambassador code E11752 for a free gift when you spend £10.

Punk is a ridiculously bright pink, which I'm going to love, I can tell! The set contains; Nude (which isn't my usual type of colour, but could work nicely under Barry M Instant nail effects), Vintage (stunning bold mint green), Lilac (as the name suggests-looks lovely), Indigo (sparkling midnight blue) and Cosmic (black with multi coloured glitter).

Eyeko Ambassador Haul
As I mentioned recently, I am now an Eyeko Ambassador, which is really exciting. I've been a fan of their products for years, since they first started in fact, so it seemed obvious that I sign up. Every time any of you spend £10 on the Eyeko site and enter my unique ambassador code (E11752), found to the right of the page, you'll get a free gift with your order. How cool is that?
Shipping on all orders is free within the UK and EU and on all orders over $55 (anywhere). Eyeko also run special offers on their website with free gift deals etc (please note these cannot be used with the ambassador code, so choose your gift carefully!). *Update: you can still enter my ambassador code with a gift code, although you will not receive my free gift in addition to the gift you've selected in the comments section-but please still input my code so that Eyeko know you've been recommended by me* During checkout you'll find a page that has boxes for comments, discounts or an ambassador code and that's where you enter it.

I received one of their new lipglosses (London Lips, limited edition, £6.50) as an introduction to my 'ambassador status', swatches below. I have to say I was a little disappointed that I didn't receive the t-shirt purely because I promised my sister she would get it. However not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I am happy with my lipgloss. The shade is Mayfair and is one of the cream colours, so although it can be sheered out, it has more pigment than the sheer ones. It's a terracotta brown as you can see in the images. It comes in really funky packaging covered with London images and feels lovely and smooth (not sticky) and moisturising on the lips.

I also placed an order for some of their nail polishes (£3.50) which are ridiculously cute. I love how they theme the style and packaging around each colour. If you read the previous post, you will see I used Rain in my pastel manicure, it's a gorgeous dusky greyish, pale blue with shimmer in the bottle that isn't so noticeable on the nail. Tres unique. I also got the cool taupe Posh Polish and the sparkly Vampira which I'm dying to try.

My sister bought the Eyeko tote bag, because she loves the image of the cute Eyeko girl. The bag was much bigger than we imagined, enough to carry all your shopping! I'm already hooked and planning my next order...definitely going to get more polish and maybe try the eye pencils too. Let me know if you purchase anything or have any recommendations. I'll keep you updated with any future orders I place!!

Barry M Instant Nail Effects: Pastel Manicure
Thanks to everyone who has watched my Barry M Instant Nail Effects video. I was planning a proper 'speaking' video today but I've been suffering from a sore throat all week and completely lost my voice today : ( The phone rang earlier and obviously I couldn't answer it, so I was banging on the wall to get my sister downstairs to do it, heehee!
Anyway, there were a few things I wanted to add about that nail art if you were still contemplating buying it. First of all, for anyone who was wondering which red nail polish I was wearing in the video for my ladybird style nails (above), it was Bourjois 1 Seconde in 7 Rouge Cerise.
-Instant Nail Effects really works best on brighter or paler colours-you need contrast to the black. When I first got it home, I was already wearing Mushroom and just painted the Nail Effects quickly over the top, but the effect wasn't as good, because you couldn't really see it. I tried pastel nails this week and love the outcome. The nail art really brings the different colours together and a couple of people have already stopped me and asked what I'm wearing on my nails. For info on what I used, see the bottom of this post. I'm already planning using some brights next time (orange, turquoise, bold green, fuchsia etc). White would also look stunning I reckon, so I'm on the lookout for a white polish now.
-Instant Nail Effects is one of the fastest drying polishes I have ever used. Once it's turned matte and crackled, it's dry, which is really brilliant.
-Sometimes it can look very matte, so that can be quite annoying if it's not the look you're going for. As I mentioned in the video though, all you need is a layer of top coat over it. I didn't use it in the video, just because I was being quick for filming purposes. I also haven't used it this week on my pastel manicure, but I actually found it didn't look matte this time.
-You can use this over any nail polish. My Mum always wear a glittery topcoat and when I tried it on her (over that), it crackled to an almost giraffe print look, which looked really great.
All in all, I think it's a fabulous product for giving show-stopping nails with no effort. I'm hoping Barry M will start producing it in other colours, seeing as it's proved popular.
Pastel manicure shades, shown in order (from pinky to thumb); No7 Stay Perfect in Pearly Pink 30, Eyeko Rain Polish (my new favourite), Barry M Nail Paint in 304 Mint Green, 17 Lasting Fix in Sherbet Lemon and Topshop Nails in Parma Violet. My nails are super short just now because ever since I fell down the stairs months ago, I can't grow them to a decent length without them breaking which sucks : (
