LOTD: Week 4

Hi gang, sorry for the delay between posts lately.  I've been in a bit of a funk mood-wise and have taken up decorative journaling (not writing) in loose-leaf binders to be exact.  I'm really loving it and I've found it's something I'm actually managing without becoming completely shattered.  I've been doing a little bit each day and that's obviously eaten into any time I would normally have spent blogging.  I can't do it all and as poor as my quality of life has been over the years, I don't think it's too selfish to prioritise something I'm finding really enjoyable.  Anyway, it doesn't look like I'm going to get caught up on these posts anytime soon (may live to regret starting so far behind, but at the same time a lot of the work had already been done so...), but here's anoth...

LOTD: Week 3

Hello, I hope you're all keeping well.  We've gotten some much needed rain (the grass is green for the first time all Summer) and it's been a bit cooler (thankfully), so I've been able to sleep at night.  It's actually been feeling slightly Autumnal for brief moments and as we say in Scotland "the nights are fair drawing in" (means daytime is shorter/night is coming quicker), so it's time to shut the curtains and put the lights on earlier than usual.  Dare I say, I've been thinking of Christmas?  I keep getting emails about beauty advent calendar waitlists, so I think it's that, coupled with the change in weather!  Here's my round-up of lip combos and perfumes I've worn throughout the week.

LOTD: Week 2

I'm back with my second 'Lip Of The Day' weekly round-up, catch my first post here if you missed it and if you're new to my blog altogether, welcome.  Here, I post which lip products and perfumes I've been wearing each day.  A little reminder that these posts are currently weeks behind and that I do sometimes wear older makeup (unless it looks or smells icky), as I like to use my products as much as I can.  That said, I tend to reach for balms, oils and glosses these days which happen to be more current.  I wear perfume throughout the day and most nights put on another before bedtime.  EDT stands for Eau de Toilette and EDP is Eau de Parfum.

LOTD: Week 1

Welcome to my first proper post in a very long time-I hope you're all keeping well.  This series will focus on my LOTD's (Lip Of The Day) and which perfumes I've been wearing with them.  As I mentioned last week, I got into the habit of wearing daily lip combinations years ago, despite no longer wearing a full face of makeup.  Lip products have always been some of my favourite kinds of makeup, though I'd say my tastes have changed somewhat over the past year or two.  As you'll see, I mostly wear lipliner with a balm, oil or gloss and tend not to reach for my lipsticks as much (lipstick always used to be my favourite).

My Favourite Sunglasses And Why I'll Only Buy High End

Image
You probably know this, but several years ago I developed an obsession with sunglasses. It began with cheapo Primark ones that I liked and at £2 a pop, didn't hurt my bank balance. One in every colour? Sure. I bought loads. I liked that it was another aspect of my outfit that I could chop and change to whatever I fancied that day, like jewellery or a handbag. Then, I don't know what triggered it, but I started seeking out unusual shapes or colours or frames with fancy bits on them and thus delved into the world of luxury eyewear. I bought the stunning loopy legged 'Minimal Baroque' from Prada, sleek and fierce cat-eye 'Nikita' by Tom Ford and a couple of deliciously quirky takes on 'cat eyes' from Irregular Choice (well one was a birthday present). Last year I eventually tracked down the gingham D&G frames that I'd unwillingly left behind in TKMaxx years previous. I even found the limited edition red Dior Miss Cherie pair that again, I...

Last Month In Pics

Image
Hello peeps! Jeez I forgot how long it takes to edit photos, I've been working on this post since last week! I've also taken some pics of my May ' Beloved Beauty Bits ', so hopefully I'll get that finished this weekend. Here's a collective post of some bits and bobs from the past month... I haven't been buying shoes much at all lately. Check my temperature! I'm struggling for room for more shoes, so am trying to reign myself in. Last pairs I got were these scribble Ablaze boots from ASOS, much brighter in person than I'd expected... and some Blythe 'Cookie' (Irregular Choice) from eBay.  Both quite wintery, so I doubt I'll be wearing them just now.   My attention has turned instead to designer sunglasses. It's quite good when I think about it because sunglasses take up less room, don't get 'worn' as easily and are more of a 'classic investment piece'...oh and always fit! Scotland is lucky if it...
