Final Chapter: ASOS Curve Wiggle Dress

Do not think this is an old post creeping into your reading list, it's new honest!  If you've been following the escapades of this floral dress, then you'll know that I've already unsuccessfully tried two and here is my third (time lucky) attempt!

Lipstick Boutique Curvy: Georgia Floral Dress

Image
Last month I spoke about the welcome expansion of plus-size ranges at House of Fraser and today I'm featuring another one of those brands, Lipstick Boutique. LB's main range comes in sizes 8-16 and features celebrity collaborations with the likes of Amy Childs, Binky and Jessica Wright. The 'curvy' range comes in sizes 18-24 and very much adopts the same ethos as the main range, with bodycon silhouettes, lots of floral and lace and that same party-girl feel. That's not to say there's nothing suitable for daywear, I find the range easy to wear and it can definitely be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion.

Floral Trousers

Image
I'm not a trouser kinda girl. Infact for the past 3 years or so, I have never worn or owned a pair of jeans or trousers (aside from leggings). I'm pretty much strictly a dress person. So it's surprised me that for the past couple of weeks, since I first spotted these on ASOS , I've been totally lemming them. I think they are utterly gorgeous. You know I love florals, so perhaps it's the beautiful prints that are drawing me in. I can see how I would style them, but I'm just not sure I'd suit them or that they are totally 'me'. Would they really work on a very curvy girl? Or would I look like a giant floral, pyjama wearing mess? I've been after some peg leg trousers for a couple of years now, to wear with heels (of course), I just love that effortless cool. However I'm no slave to fashion, if it doesn't suit me, I wouldn't wear it. I'm just not sure I'd be comfortable in something so exposed and not in a flesh baring kind of way...

Love That Luella

Image
Holy moly, check out this cutesy floral dress (above left), new for SS10 from Matalan . Recognise that cut-out heart detail (not to mention the oversized hair bow and turquoise eyeshadow)? Of course you do, it's only a dead ringer for Luella (above right). Considering there is currently no financial backer for this seasons Luella, it's unlikely the 'real version' will ever make it into production never mind your wardrobe. Plus, I left the best bit until last, the Matalan price? £25, steal! images vogue.co.uk instyle.co.uk

I Want This...

I'm dreaming about this dress. Silk, floral print, full skirt and I just love that graduated hem. I'm thinking of toughening it up with black, shiny leggings or going granny-chic with black lacey, floral tights. £45 from ASOS , available in sizes 6-20.
