LOTD: Week 1

Post does not contain any PR gifted products.  Post contains affiliate links, marked with * (which can earn the blog a small commission on purchases made). Welcome to my first proper post in a very long time-I hope you're all keeping well.  This series will focus on my LOTD's (Lip Of The Day) and which perfumes I've been wearing with them.  As I mentioned last week, I got into the habit of wearing daily lip combinations years ago, despite no longer wearing a full face of makeup.  Lip products have always been some of my favourite kinds of makeup, though I'd say my tastes have changed somewhat over the past year or two.  As you'll see, I mostly wear lipliner with a balm, oil or gloss and tend not to reach for my lipsticks as much (lipstick always used to be my favourite).

Flashback Beauty Friday 93: Versace Glam Couture

Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items. I've been unsuccessfully trying to buy the new Dior Holiday collection since it launched a couple of days ago on their site, however they've been having technical issues with payment.  Thankfully it's all fixed today, so I'm hoping I get it tomorrow, but if not it'll be Monday.  Usually DPD bring it on the Saturday even if it's not due until Monday.  Ideally I wanted it before the weekend, but it can't be helped.  Anyway this week I have some more discontinued items after my beautiful limited edition Dior Beauty Confidential 'envelope' palette last week.

Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items. I'm back with a collection of lipsticks from a brand I've shared here before. Last week, I showed you the very beautiful YSL Palette Esprit Couture compacts from 2011, definitely worth a nosey if you missed those.

Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items. I'm back with another nostalgic beauty post. Last week, I shared the only Bloom lipgloss (I think) I own. Today, I have a brand more known for their fashion line than their short lived beauty brand.

Monster High Monday: Dance Class Howleen

Image
You'll have to bear with me while I catch up on posts I've missed this week. My little sister and I bought tickets ages ago for The Big Reunion tour (the show on ITV2 that reformed 90's bands) and so we set off on Tuesday and stayed overnight in Glasgow and got back yesterday. Can you believe it was the first time I've been away since I went to my friends wedding in Aberdeenshire 3 years ago? I definitely don't get out much, so it was a nice little break. I'm pretty shattered and sore from the trip, but keen to get back into a routine. Monster High Monday was pretty much a disaster this week though. I woke up on Monday feeling fine, then within an hour I started sneezing. Not just once or twice, about 60 times in 20 minutes. Sneezing constantly is exhausting ! I wasn't sure whether it was allergies or the cold, but then my nose started running and I figured it was the worst possible moment for me to start feeling ill. I couldn't breathe, my nose w...

Monster High Monday: C.A. Cupid

Image
I was quite excited after a weeks rest to get back into Monster High Monday! It was a beautiful day, so I wanted something quite fresh and spring-like, cue the adorable CA Cupid. I was very unsure about purchasing her at first, as although I like pink, I hate the tacky-pink Barbie stuff you get and MH are about as far removed from a traditional Barbie doll as you can get! So I wondered if Cupid was veering into Barbie territory. Add to that the fact I think heart shaped lips on dolls (or anyone) looks very severe and not very endearing. I couldn't have been more wrong though. When she arrived, I both fell in love with the doll and the character. She's the sweetest l'il thing; each new character that is introduced comes with a 'pet'. Cupid doesn't have one though because she says "I would love to have a pet, but there are so many fish in the sea, how could I choose just one?"  I think that sums her up, a wee cutie pie. I was pretty psyched to ...

Monster High Monday: Clawdeen Wolf

Image
A little late with 'Monster High Monday' this week, sorry about that! This time featuring the stunning Clawdeen Wolf. She's sooo pretty, I especially love this (original) versions hair, it's just so bouncy and vivacious! I definitely don't envy her werewolf yellow eyes though... not for me as you can see here! Clawdeen is a sassy little werewolf and along with Cleo De Nile, is the only character to have her family members introduced. First with her brother Clawd (seriously hot for a cartoon/doll) and her fiery little sister Howleen more recently. Clawdeen has a no-nonsense attitude and has no trouble speaking her mind. Makeup wise, she has deep wine lips here and her signature colour is purple, so she's wearing lilac and purple eyeshadow. She's the first MH doll I've featured that actually comes wearing blush (a warm pink), so for once I don't need to alter that for my own face. On my face is the same foundation I wore last w...

A Little Respite

Image
It's been a tough week all round and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support-I really appreciate all the comments in my previous post. The brand in question have been in touch and we've been emailing back and forth. I shall update the post with the outcome and happenings when it occurs. It couldn't have happened at a worse time for me as everything seems to be stressing me out this week and my skin is showing the strain (spots galore, lovely). Anyway I'm in need of a little pick-me-up by way of browsing shoes I can't afford, as you do! I'm not yet ready for spring, even although it's been much milder here and I've been leaning more towards a tougher look lately (well as much as I can with my girly wardrobe), favouring ankle boots and boots over shoes. These Versace dudes are exactly what I'm talking about, they would in the words of Tom Cruise, 'complete me' or at least complete my look! And to think they...
