Pink Haired Princess

I've been buying lots of beauty items lately. I think I go through phases and this is definitely my makeup phase, so I have tonnes of haul posts to get through. I was struggling for money last month when I bought these MAC items, so I didn't get them the second they came out (like I usually would) and only ordered when there was 10% off at Debenhams . I'd wanted a powder blush too which had gone out of stock, but otherwise was very lucky that the few colours that were left, were the things I wanted. Sadly for me, the 'Pink Buttercream' Pearlmatte Face Powder from Baking Beauties I bought, couldn't be sent as they ran out. I'm telling myself I didn't need another too-pretty-to-use powder, but I am a little miffed I didn't get it. The two items I got were from Temperature Rising which was split into a colour range and bronzing pieces. The lip products I went for (did you really have to ask?) were of course nudes! I felt slightly...not guilty...

This week I received the strangest thing in the mail. It was from Maybelline and the cute pink bubble bag contained their latest mascara. Not so strange you're thinking. Well, the mascara wasn't actually included, just the brush. That's right, inside was a clean mascara wand with no product. It includes a little bit about the product and a voucher for £1 off, but obviously I have no means of testing it pre-purchase. What a waste of money and promotion, I thought. Then the next thing I did was take photos of the brush to show you and as I'm writing this, perhaps it's not such a strange marketing move, as it's got us talking about it! I still would have preferred to try a proper sample of the product before making up my mind about whether or not I want to purchase it. I always claim that the brush is half the battle with mascara, but I still wouldn't be convinced to buy it solely upon using this sample brush with any of my regular mascaras. How ca...

I'm really enjoying my Lipstick Challenge . Not only is it forcing me into using neglected lipsticks and helping (a tiny bit) to use up some lippies, I'm experimenting much more with layering. I've become very used to applying lipsticks straight out of the tube and maybe adding a little gloss at times. Now I'm trying to really change the look of the lipstick so I don't get bored throughout the week with the same shade. I tried out a new combo last week and ended up wearing it every day after that because I liked it so much! My lipstick was E.L.F. Matte Lip Color in Natural which is a dirty, reasonably deep pink. I'd wanted to lighten it, so put Barry M Lip Paint in 101 Marshmallow underneath. This is practically white on me (like sunblock!), with the Matte lippie on top it became a lightish, peachy pink.
