DIY Tinsel Shoes Tutorial

Image
Do not adjust your screens, these are real shoes people! Firstly, happy new year to you all, hope 2017 is a brilliant one! I set myself a little DIY project before Christmas. Well actually as is the usual way, I thought it all out, then left it for weeks and weeks and last minute decided I should do something about it or the moment would be gone until next year. My background is in fashion, so obviously back then I was extremely creative and it's not something I've been able to indulge in since being ill. Ok, I can't take the credit for this, but my Mum is very crafty and this week she has been making some Halloween themed goodies and I asked if I might share one with you all. When she was looking after my nephews on Monday, they decorated polystyrene skulls and she's since made her own which are hanging in our conservatory. This isn't a step-by-step tutorial because it's not complicated enough to require one, plus it would feel weird when I didn't make it myself, but this is honestly really easy to do and child friendly too.

It was one of the most fun contests I've ever done, getting to come up with ideas and do little craft things in doll-house size! As creative as I am, I've sadly had to let that part of my life go, over the past 10 years with being ill. I no longer sew or draw or anything like that and it is something I miss dearly, but I know I would get increasingly frustrated at not being able to do it, so it's better I stick to things that I can do. Anyway that aside, it was fun for an evening and I was super impressed (even if I do say so myself) at how fabulous our room turned out and how thrifty we were. We didn't win the competition (we were robbed ...
