Pink Haired Princess

Do not think this is an old post creeping into your reading list, it's new honest!  If you've been following the escapades of this floral dress, then you'll know that I've already unsuccessfully tried two and here is my third (time lucky) attempt!

Golly, I can't tell you the amount of half written posts I started last week. I keep finding something more important to write about, then ditch that for something else. I'm annoying myself! I've had ASOS orders arriving almost every day (not joking that much) and in amongst them has been even more 'wiggle dresses'. Uh-huh, more than the zillion I already have. So instead of dragging it out each week in Bought & Thought (which would likely last until next summer), I figured I'd do a massive compilation in one post with reviews of each one. A lot of these have gone into the sale right now (which is why I thought you'd appreciate a review now) and some have only come out in the past couple of days. I'm going to start with some of the more recent ones, because they are freshest in my mind and the amount of photos for older styles vary as I didn't have the foresight to know I'd write this post!

I've always had a bit of a fascination with flamingo prints on clothing and accessories. Known for being kitsch, quirky and fun, it definitely appeals to my playful side. It's no surprise then that I'm captivated by the new Moschino Cheap & Chic collection , where the pink feathered birds take centre stage. In saying that, the collection is a little less 'in your face' than you'd expect, with fresh white and pastel shades, rather than a more traditional 'tropical' print. The birds feature these cute, dangling beaded legs, which give added movement and dimension to the clothes.  It's a really lovely touch.   It's well worth browsing that collection even if it's only to 'window shop' because every item is so wonderful, I'm in awe of it all. The ASOS sale  started today, with up to 50% off! I've had a quick look and there's some decent stuff to be found. Last week, I had a discount code that was burning a hole in my pocket and seeing as I'd been stalking the ' wiggle dresses ' several times a day for months, I decided to order the two that were left in my size. I already own the black floral and blue spot above (that aren't available now) and I absolutely adore them, so it seemed a no-brainer to order some alternatives. I was hoping this one would be great for summer as the fabric is different to the others. Sadly when they arrived, they were much, much smaller than the two I own. The wallpaper border print one was the bigger of the two, but I couldn't get it on with the zip closed and couldn't close the zip when I tried it on, with it open. It feels like this 'no money' situation has lasted for months already and yet it's ' only ' been 6 weeks. It's no fun. Anyway I've been through the depression and gone cold-turkey, now I just want to compile wishlists of pretty things I can't afford! This little lot should get you in full-on Spring mode (although it's very chilly here today) and I would happily spend my pretend money on them all. First up are these adorable Classic Hardware deer, bunny and kitty rings £24.99 each and  matching pendants £35 each from Dollydagger. I absolutely love the vintage inspired imagery and my animal jewellery collection has remained pretty stagnant lately, so would love a boost. Next, I first wrote about these shoes back in... January , so I've been long time lusting after them! Now that the weather is maybe hopefully moving into Spring, these would make a nice addition to my wardrobe. Whilst I'm praising the efforts of the ASOS Curve collection , it's not all happy-shopping in plus-size land. Since entering the world of the fatshionista, I've depended on stores like Dorothy Perkins who offer a commendable range of sizes across the scale. It's nice being able to walk into a 'normal' shop and buy a dress that a size 12 or 6 girl would wear, rather than being confined to unflattering swamps of fabric usually found in plus-size specialty stores. So it's really bothered me that DP have added so many branded lines within their online store that have a smaller range of sizes. You have the likes of Ruby Rocks, Closet, Mariko, Uttam London, Vivi Boutique and Billie & Blossom in sizes (at most) of 8-16 rather than the regular 6-22. Now we're not speaking about a small concession here, a quick search in branded dresses alone, turns up 1288 results. As a regular customer of theirs, why should I be excluded from purchasing over a thousa...

Two massive parcels arrived today with my ASOS order ( really massive, I tried to capture it by placing a shoe box next to it for comparison). One box contained two pairs of shoes, the other a dress (yep a massive box for one dress). Ok, so it's not just any dress, but an amazing ASOS Salon one. I can honestly say I've never spent this amount of money on one item of clothing ever . Shoes yes, dresses no. I had my eye on the 'Gem' floral prom dress (yes it appears to have been named after me-true fate), months before it even launched on the website and in the back of my mind I knew I couldn't justify spending £150 on one dress, no matter how much I loved it. It went into the sale this week though and the stock starting going pretty quickly so I decided I needed it and would be sad without it! I made the right decision as the Curve version only has one size 20 left altogether. It's entirely worth the £83 right enough, which to be honest I never doubted. ...
