Urban Decay ink Lip Stain pens
Day 3 of an awful migraine means a quick post for you today. Seeing as I briefly mentioned this product last week when talking about Eyeko's Fruity Felt Lip Pen, I thought I'd share the Urban Decay version. I'm sure UD released theirs first, we're talking early Noughties, like 2002-ish.

Called the Urban Decay ink. Lip Stain, I'm not sure if you're supposed to incorporate the rose graphic into the title or the significance of it or indeed "ink." written the way it is, but there you go. I'd say these are less realistic felt-pen-like than the Eyeko version, but a fun looking makeup item nonetheless.

The self coloured packaging made colour selection easy and they all have silver lids and ends with the shade name written near the bottom on the front. Like last week, it was best to store these tip down to stop it from drying out.

The shades I had and I'm not sure if there were more to be honest, I think this might've been it, were; Naked (a neutral-ish shade rather than a light nude, that seemed to look different depending on your skintone), Illegal (candy pink), Bitten (berry-red) and Spank (a plummy purple), don't you just love the old, edgy shade names UD came up with? Hmmm 🤔

Obviously given their age, they were difficult to swatch with basically no colour left in the lighter two.  The darker shades were better with the purple showing up well.  This didn't mean I used it least, as I recall wearing it quite regularly as a base for other purples so the colour would really hold.  I think the tips on these type of pens are fantastic for precision and reshaping your lips if desired.  The downside is they can be quite drying, so often required a balm, gloss or lipstick on top.  It would be interesting to see an updated version of this product nowadays.  When I think of the advancement in the past few years just of liquid and matte lipstick formulations, imagine what 20 years could do for these stains.
