Flashback Beauty Friday 95: SugarBaby Glamour Puss
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items.
Last week I shared a couple of powders from discontinued boutique brand, Pout and today I have another complexion product for you. I'll admit I was hoping to do something a bit more exciting this week, but the weather has been so terrible (dark and awful rain), that I've been unable to get decent enough lighting at any point in the day for photos. It's calmer sounding now, but was torrential earlier. We've actually been getting less rain than usual, so I guess it decided to dump it all at once and then some!
Anyway, the brand today is SugarBaby, one word or two? Looks like one on the packaging but with a capital B. I vaguely remember this product, but no specifics about it. Thankfully, a google search helped me find a review I wrote 17 years ago. I get a bit freaked out when I search and find myself and things I mostly don't even remember writing! SugarBaby are an Australian brand, which actually still exist, though have changed somewhat. They don't seem to produce make-up now, just tanning and skincare products which are cruelty free, vegan, clean, kind to the environment, naturally sourced ingredients and made in Australia. Unfortunately, I don't remember at all where I bought this and I think I'm correct in saying the brand is no longer available here.
The Glamour Puss Flawless Finish Oil Free Foundation came in a 30ml tube, in either shade light to medium or medium to dark. Two shade 'ranges' definitely doesn't sound ideal and you know how pale I am and how much I struggle with even the lightest shades being too dark, but this must've worked on me because apparently I went through 2 tubes of it (so says my 17 year old review).
It says it's a "super slick lightweight formula with medium coverage. Hydrates skin whilst helping to control shine, giving skin a healthy sun-kissed glow". My review back in the early Noughties said it didn't feel heavy on the skin, but covered imperfections well. I felt it was long lasting and easy to apply without being streaky (I think I just applied with fingers back in those days, as the box suggests). I didn't gush about it, but stated out of the many foundations I owned at that time, this was the one I reached for most, so I guess it was decent enough.
Clearly the cute packaging is what drew me to this product, I love the illustration on the box, the tabs under the lid say "pretty" and "sweet". Then of course the lovely lavender coloured tube with girl sitting at her dressing table. All that vintage boudoir-esque feel has now gone from the brand.
Do you remember this brand being available in the UK or any more details than me?
