Irregular Choice: Rosie With Love
Last week I showed you Irregular Choice Rosie Cheeks that I bought from the recent re-collaboration (if there's such a word!) with Rosanna Gault. Today I have the other pair I bought, red Rosie With Love (they also came in white). RWL are a variation of the Rosanna boot I loved so dearly from the first collection. I'll be totally honest and say the floral still makes my heart flutter more than these, but this new variation is still pretty awesome and definitely eye-catching.
The uppers are made from red patent, slightly deeper in colour (and nicer!) than I was expecting from the stock photos and the 'sock' part is polka dot canvas. There's a large and I mean, very large, bow on the front in white with red hearts. I hadn't realised it was satin until I saw it in person and I'm not totally sure I love that fabric choice. There's 'tails' which spiral off from this and are fixed to the boot like stripes, exactly as they appeared on the originals. Near the top of the boot is a striped frill and I'd have loved another frill right around that top edge in lace. I think it would've finished it off nicely. There's lovely laser-cut, white scalloped edging around the border of the two main fabrics and actually even this around the top would've been lovely.
Like the shoes, the boots have an almond shaped toe and chunky, floating platform. This one is red and white striped patent, which is really eye-catching and provides a cool contrast against the polka dots and hearts. I am a fan of the clashing patterns.
The heel is white with the iconic heart shaped cut-out and a red heel tip. As I said in my other review, these heels are really wide, so actually feel very stable to walk on. Inside the heart on this pair are printed red hearts, which is a lovely touch.
Once more they have the beautiful striped bunny lining (just on the insole, not the insides) and the same on the platform sole and shoe sole. The boots open and close with an inside zip. I found them true to size, less generous than the shoes. I took a bit of a risk buying my usual size as I often have to size up in boots, but I can easily zip these up without too much tightness across my foot.
They are really stunning, I just love this whole collection so much (someone talk me out of buying more!). I hope you loved my romantic setting for these, I'll pop more photos up on Facebook and Instagram later. You can find my Shoesday Tuesday post on these boots here and this week was the turn of Rosie Cheeks where I discuss the fit in more detail. Do you like these, did you buy anything from this range?
