Pink Haired Princess

Got a lot of financial stress going on right now or rather a lack of finances altogether and not through spending for once! I won't bore you with my problems but suffice to say the arrival of this package went some way to cheering me up today and I quickly took these photos as I spent the rest of the day babysitting my nephews (playing a rather grotesque shark game on the i-pad)!  These shoes were the one item I was allowing myself to buy, no matter how dire my finances were, so on Friday, I along with many others, sat biting my nails and refreshing the Irregular Choice web page at 12pm, waiting for the arrival of the much anticipated bunny heels! It's the first time I've known Irregular Choice to be so specific about not only a release day but time . I truly haven't experienced anything like this over a pair of shoes and suspect IC are the same! It's because these shoes are so freakin' adorable and without blowing my own trumpet, I like to think I play...

It's a Friday and I thought some cute dollies would welcome us into the weekend! My Monster High 'Catrine DeMew' arrived from Paris (well online at Asda actually, but that's a little less glamorous), she is an Asda exclusive if you're looking for her.  However, more about her later in the post. I mentioned in my last Monster High post that my sister completely changed the look of her Howleen (Dance Class), so I took some photos to show you. Remember she originally came with bunches, which I took out and made into one bun? Well this is what my sis did.... Completely different to mine!  Howleen has the softest hair, it's great to play around with and despite her having quite tight curls, they were easy enough to brush out. My sister looked through her spare Bratz clothes and found a new outfit and she's very happy with the finished result. The boots by the way, were purchased for her Blythe dolls, but she's given a few pairs to her MH's! Whil...

Ah, the beautiful Robecca Steam. I don't want to start this post on a downer, but it was never going to be easy to compete with the striking, dark and exotic looking features that make up this stunning doll. I went into it a little tentatively and while I found duping the colours easy enough, the application was a little more tricky. The finished result? Well, I'm no Robecca it has to be said! See what I mean? Gawgeous! She's one of the newer characters and you'll probably recall my post last year when I got her. I find her English accent a little irritating from what I've seen of her in the webisodes/movies, but she seems very sweet and I'm looking forward to new versions of her (better than the Dance Class one which didn't do it for me). She's got lots of really cool and quirky details like her cog shaped eyes and rivets which I couldn't begin to replicate, but I did try out the shimmery skin and gave the colourful eye application a go....

Here's the next half of my Yves Saint Laurent lipstick collection (you can find my Rouge Volupte swatches here ). This time the lipsticks are Rouge Pur and Rouge Pur Couture . I'll start with Rouge Pur, which come in a lightweight gold plastic case with red and black logo on one side of the lid (note a couple of mine here are in tester packaging). The case doesn't feel as luxurious as the RV's and isn't as pretty I don't think. The lipstick has a satin finish and as you will see from mine there are various finishes within that, duo-tone, shimmering etc. I find the colour is rather opaque and is reasonably close to the shade you see in the tube. I think I'm correct in saying these have been phased out for the Couture line which now comes in various forms (lustre, vintage, matte). The shades are in numerical order, from left to right in all images and are as follows: 34 Golden Copper 49 Tropical Pink 59 Golden Melon 126 Cashmere Pink 138 Pink...
