What is your opinion on festive themed shoes? Are you a firm believer in 'a shoe is for life not just for Christmas'? Or do you love cracking out those red velvet or sparkly shoes come 'holiday' season? As a typical Gemini, I can see arguments for both sides and I'm a little on the fence to be honest. While I'm trying to break the cycle of keeping certain shoes only to wear on important occasions, it's nice to have those fancy shoes that feel really special that you wouldn't wear every day. Dolls have gotten a lot cooler than when I was a kid! In my day it was a decision between blonde or brunette! A green skinned doll with a pink undercut, numerous piercings and visible veins wasn't even a dream, never mind reality! Monster High have come up trumps yet again though, with the very cutely named Venus McFlytrap, who is of course daughter of the plant monsters! Back when I bought my Robecca doll , there was one Venus and I picked it up for my sister, knowing it was one she wanted. One of my many gripes as a plus-size lady, is the lack of 'boutique' style brands. You know the deal; you fall in love with a pretty print on a dress and yay, they have it in XL! You go to try it on and it turns out an extra large would struggle to fit a size 14. I've been there many a time and it's super annoying when you're looking for something that not every plus-size girl will own and is therefore not from one of the few 'high-street' brands that cater for women over a 16. So did you know that AX Paris , renowned for their party dresses (which usually stop at a size 14), have their own 'curve' range for plus sizes? You all know I'm a sucker for a bargain or extra points on my Debenhams beauty card. So a couple of weeks ago I was buying fragrance for my brother-in-law in Debenhams, for Christmas. They were running a 10% off and '500 bonus points' offer (when spending £40) and in order to qualify, I picked up another Clarins Instant Light, Natural Lip Perfector because I love this stuff and have finished my trial size. I figured spending another £16 (£14.40 with 10% off) was worth it when I was picking up £5 worth of bonus points (yes I have all kinds of weird rationalisation when it comes to 'offers'). When we got home I realised I'd like to get the Alien gift-set for my sister too, but waited another day, so I could qualify for the bonus points again (you can only get one set of bonus points per day). Elbows at the ready ladies, Pearl Lowe at Peacocks is back!! As you know I've championed the collection right from the start, so when Peacocks fell into financial trouble and closed many of their stores including their website; I was pretty devastated that the fabulous vintage inspired range was no more. I know a lot of you were extremely disappointed and felt it left a hole in the market for that type of product.  Good news is; Peacocks have just relaunched their website though and there's a small selection of PL items we haven't seen before and man, are they good! My nearest store closed down and will not be re-opening, but they didn't stock PL anyway, so I always relied on purchasing online.
