Pink Haired Princess

Dorothy Perkins have really been stepping it up (no pun intended) with their footwear lately. There are loads of lovely pairs and at really great prices. My favourite picks are below, I'm loving the Dior-esque brogue style and mink satin/silver trim sandals, both at £25 and the pink sandals with gold bow are divine, as are the jewel peep-toes, both at £30. Last week saw the capitals first 'London Jewellery Week'. Similar to Fashion Week, the event included catwalk shows showcasing both established and new British designers, as well as auctions and workshops. Rosamund Pike attended, who I have to say I usually find a little boring style-wise. She always manages to look so matronly. Anyway, she wore some gorgeous jewellery - 2 large statement rings and a coordinating headband. These are right up my street, they are HUGE, but still very pretty. She did well to team with a simple black dress, although I think just one ring would've looked better than both (but hey, it's Jewellery Week!). (images celebutopia)

I see something I want on a celebrity or on the runway, I can't get it out of my head, I must have it...but the problem is, my budget is more Monsoon than Missoni. I do this a lot. Sometimes, I think I even make-up what I want, without actually knowing if it's available for purchase (at any price). The latest mission is to find gladiator sandals, but knee high and with a heel. The trend for gladiator style sandals is not new. Kate Moss has been doing it for years and it's filtered down and almost saturated the high-street. It's a pretty easy task to find flat strappy sandals in a variety of colour choices and styles (see above). However, I had to be different. I wanted a heel. I don't ever do flat shoes and those in-between 'I'm-not-too-high-but-not-flat-either' are even more impossible for me to walk in. Give me sky-high stilettos and I can do anything, yes, even run. I've been trying to cut down on the amount of magazines I buy (it was at the stage where I was buying every weekly and glossy!). So, I haven't picked up Glamour for a while. This month however, there is a free BeneFit Her Glossiness lipgloss with every magazine (no voucher needed, magazine £2). There are 3 to choose from (shown in order below, left to right), Didn't Hear it from Me, Who Are You Wearing? and My People, Your People. The gloss is worth £13, so it's a real bargain. There are also 3 different covers to 'collect', Hayden Panettiere, Kate Beckinsale or Mark Ronson. I've still to track down 'Didn't Hear it from Me', but found the other 2 in my local supermarket.
